Don't know what I was thinking.... Yea, the current goes THRU all the modules in series and each acts like a resistor dropping the voltage in doing so.

I was picturing a common buss-bar..... that's not series, but parallel.

Mind's eye pictured one thing, reality is something else.

Update... After over two years of waiting for my Squareback, I have come to the realization that it is money lost and it will never be delivered. :x

So, I am SELLING my remaining LEAF "Lizard" modules, relay, battery heater relay, safety disconnect and spare Prius inverter -> Please see the classified ad for details.

That's sad can't you find another car even if it's not the one you initially intended?

I can, but just the car will be $6k and likely need another $2k in repairs, which I don't have.

Update!

While the squareback is no more, I have located a potential replacement and because of improved component availability (read: Brat Industries and having sold the MGR) I plan on using a Leaf EM57 directly coupled to a beetle transmission :D

I was able to get the Gen2 OI board updated, purchase a motor and spin it, getting FOC working has been another matter :?

For now, taking a step back and working thru Damien's FOC tuning video while hoping an overlooked error will show itself. Once again, all I need is the car ;)

Been working on getting the Prius Gen2 inverter to cooperate with the EM57 Leaf Gen2 motor. ACK! Not sure how to validate the resolver wiring, the Syncofs Tuning video sort of left that part out except to say that "wierd behavior" if wrong. I have such, but worked thru all permutations and it only gets worse :(

Good news is that I took an hour and double-tripple checked the throttle pedal mapping. My useful range is 775 to 3750 with a *little* headroom on the top, see attached.

For the time being this project is once again on HOLD. I purchased a second Prius OI board as I had damaged my original one (self inflicted due to relay coil back EMF) and I cannot get the "new" one to program or any lights to work.

So..... I went In Search Of (if you get that reference ;)) a used LEAF as a doner vehicle intending to move onto an OI LEAF controller. Well, the local market for used EVs has crashed and I found a really nice 2017 LEAF w/60k miles for less than my DIY EV project budget. So, I welcomed home "Maple", my OEM EV.
