As in it drive again. Okay will add this change to my ever growing December update.

It still does not change the speed limit :)

Can you do the following, log the same params as you have now but with the wheels in the air. Car very secure ofcourse as you will be pushing the motor over 7000 rpm.

Thanks Tom.
Ok will do a wheels in the air test.

I am also going to do a road speed test on an open road to be sure, to be sure!

Could you please suggest a parameter change to get some region back?

Cheers Les

So there maybe a limit somewhere. can you please provide a log a longer one showing regen. Or a graph of potnom showing if it does reach the -15 as per setting.

So went for a short fun drive before getting the wheels in the air for a spin test.

So there is regen happening.

Need to see if Potnom gets to the -15. Looks like your torque gets to 350ish as it lines up with UDC on your plot. So from this it seems okay as potnom -100 to 100 gets scaled to torque -3500 to 3500, or in your case as its flipped the signs flip.

You seem to be getting to -10 to -15 potnom as per your setting. I would bump your value for regenmax, this is for throttle regen and regenBrake for your braking regen. Just double them if you feel its currently way to little.

Thanks Tom, will do.

At present doesn’t feel like any regen.

Are these values ok to use to plot for the wheels in the air test run?

Should be okay.

Please plot on the left: Potnom + UDC + IDC
Plot on the right: Speed

Thank you

Well it spins faster in the air!

Used the handbrake to slow it down at the end.

Didn’t adjust regen.

In the interest of the Gen 3 Prius community would it be worthwhile to do the same test run in reverse? ( my reverse… Greg’s drive)

Yes please.

Also wierdly here you get no regen. Also this could be related to "revRegen": 0

This is my reverse (Greg’s drive) air spin.
IMG_2506.png
I then changed revregen from off! to on. Left regenmax at -15

IMG_2509.png
The Prius Gen 3 sure likes to rev!
Regen worked well to slow the motor. 🙂

Probaly even too dangerous with wheels off the ground, though I probably hit 150+ with the motorbike wheel at Dublin Maker when some cheeky kid took it out of reverse :D

Okay so we can confirm your motor is running in reverse which is fine. Toyota do not limit in reverse it appears.

Both go close to 13K reported.

So there must be a current or power limit you are hitting a certain speed. Question is if its related to requested direction not too sure how to easily plot the driving in reverse and getting the 8K speed.

Id say when you get some time can you get another log and graph doing a run to "top speed" if its safely possible.

Left Potnom + IDC + UDC and right speed. Want to see if we derate potnom based on current limit for example, not sure if we rulled that out before.
