The penalty for urgency. Otherwise, Pick N Pull would have them around for $15.

Then again I'm 5 years into my summer project and you're actually getting stuff done, so, $100 here and there is cheap progress.

Oh, I figured that was some previous scrapper. The rule of Junkyards is, if it would take you 10 seconds longer to not damage a $500 component... don't waste your time.

Hey, you know what would make it a tiny bit easier to get the bolt out? If I crushed this entire adjacent panel. *crunch* Way better.

Only thing they get kinda grouchy about is glass, 'cause it can't get picked up with a magnet.

the stock radiator had to come out to make it easier to drop the engine later


it brought it's side kick with it

we don't need no windshield squirters where we're going

won't be needing the fuel filterator

dropped the DC-DC Converter [ Beta version ]

I couldn't get MG1 [ also beta ] off until I removed the engine

first time in the garage

Tools Needed:

On my last 2 conversions I didn't even bother draining the oil. Left it in there for the buyer to use Fortunately both tanks were near empty. Since we replaced the petrol mower with an electric one I have absolutely no use for the smelly juice.

*eyes the room nervously*

Surely Greg won't finish 2 EVs before I get mine rolling.

6.5 hours to de-ice. I spent 6.5 hours yesterday not even finishing a single bracket yet.

And Greg edits far slower than he works. So this is all long in the past.

Another 5 hours today.

If I had a lift? No problem. Walk under the car with a drill, drill out 4 holes, they'll be perfect the first time, 5 minutes, 1 minute per hole plus a little assembly, job done.

Without a lift? Blindly scrape at the end of the reach of your fingertips where you think the hole should be drilled. Lay on your back with your hands over your head, trying to guess what angle the drill should be held at. Can't put any pressure on it so you're stepping up 8 drillbits on each hole. Doesn't fit, holes are off center and drilled crooked. Try to file them smooth, on your back, hands over your head, where you have no leverage. Every time you want to switch sides of the bracket, crawl out from under the car, walk around the other side, lay down and shimmy under again because I have to work on the car discretely in the parkade and can't just put it up on jackstands. 5 hours later.

I think that's an ac/dc inverter.

so coming up next is Motor Mounts, here is a random pic of the 3rd gen Prius transaxle with its stock mounts still on it for reference

There are 3 stock mounts on the transmission itself, all three are rubber mounted to the chassis.

1. The Top Mount (left side / driver side in the US)


2. The Front Mount (closest to the radiator core support)



3. The Back Mount (closest to the firewall)
