Zombieverter with Ampera water heater

Post by mgbgtv8 »

Hi,
I need some help getting my heater to work. As the title says, I'm using the Zombieverter and an Ampera water heater.
What I've done so far:
- Connected the HV cables to the spare connection of the Mitsubishi rear inverter. So high voltage is applied when the contactors are closed.
- Connected GND and +12V to the "Enable" pin of the 3 pin LV connector
- Selected Heater Type to "Ampera" in Zombie Parameters
- Selected Control to "Enable" in the same section
- HeatPwr to 3200 W, but in the documentation it says that this is not used.
- HeatPrcnt to 50
- Connected +12V to the Hvrequest pin of Zombie via a switch and selected HeatReq parameter for this pin. When I turn the switch on, Heatreq turns on in the spot values, as intended.

The heater is SW CAN controlled. It's the middle pin of the LV connector. Where do I connect this cable? I suppose this is the only missing bit of my set-up (I hope so). Damien got it running in one of his cars and explained the settings for Zombie, but I found no information about how to connect the SW CAN.

Thanks,
Stefan

SW can jumpers need soldering first. Jumper instructions on the back of pcb.

It uses the ext CAN3 H as signal out on the zombie header.

Thanks. I soldered jumpers SJ11, SJ14 and SJ15 for SW Can. Unfortunately the heater doesn‘t wake up.
For HeaterCan I can only choose between Can1 and Can2. I‘ve tested both. Can3Speed is set to k33.3.
Values for tmpheater, udcheater and powerheater in the spotvalues are all 0.
What else can I check?

Not sure you have the same heater, but mine and some others heater did not work with messages zombie sends. My heater model code is exactly as Damiens, so there must be some mystical difference:

I have not checked the difference as I control heater from other controller than zombie.
