Hi all
I am looking to build a series hybrid tractor pull tractor and in order to be competitive I am looking to get as much efficiency out of the drive train as possible.
I am looking for options for motors that will be most efficient with the 25kw I have available from my motor. I would also prefer if these motor(s) had their efficiency at lower RPM so I do not need to use as much gear reduction to put the motor into its most efficient zone.
Suggestions for motors that can handle the full 25kw as well as suggestions for motors that can be used in a pair for each driven wheel that are only 13kw or so each are also appreciated.
Weight is of some concern, or I would likely be going with a used EM57. I am still considering one of these as either the generator head or the traction motor but there is no way my weight budget will allow for two of them.
My budget is fairly generous for this project but I don't want to be spending many thousands more than I need to just for a percent or two of efficiency.
Thank you much
