Mixing motors and inverters

Post by Proton »

What inverter could be used with a motor like the one in this video. they are saying that motor runs at only 70% to push the BUS.

1. What kind of inverter can power this big motor?
2 Any inverter can run any AC / 3 faze motor?

Depending on motor specification obviously the drive/inverter needs Tobe matched. There is no "one size" fits all drive.

Agree, but what kind of inverter can drive that motor. I mean a Prius inverter will not be able to drive that kind of motor. 2-3 of them ?
I do not want to do a small car conversion and I am doing the Van right now just because I have it, is cheap and I am learning.
What I am looking for really is something that can drive a RV or big buss.

Found a new method to swap the board :D

Well what type of motor is it and what type of position feedback it's got? What type of power and nominal voltage?

Now your search can start. :)

New sensors are available to ehh.

Thats the thing, I paused the video but was not able to get the motor info and they do not give any details in the video.
They are saying 483HP. Looks like 6 cables go in. so 2 inverters?
I am just asking since I do not understand yet exactly how this motor inverter pairing works.

This is 750V probably more complicated setup for the batteries.

So this motor has at 3500 RPM max speed.
to reach 90MPH the gear ratio needs to be arround 3.3:1
