Anyone know if one of these can be run in reverse (I.e flipped 180 degrees)
The only issue I can think of is if there is an oil pump which only runs in forward gear
Yes rotate along the vertical is fine (keep motor phase cables down). There is no firmware limit forward or backwards for the motor.
The gearbox breaths using the mating face onto the motor, so you run the risk of oil not staying in the gearbox if you flip it along the output axle axis.
I'm currently working on a replacement with M16/M20/M25 thread for either the standard M16/M20/M25 cable glands or the Bulgin Buccanneer 400 Series connectors as shown in the second picture
(The oval holes for the signal connectors are identical to the power connector)
But I don't have the right O-rings for test fitting them yet, so I don't want to release the files just yet.

Anyone tried bit more powerful inverter 9410A163 yet? Or does anyone have can logs for it?
What is that inverter from?

I have that one and it uses the same CAN process.
Great, thanks!
If I'm correct, this should be newer model with bit more power? I don't know is power limit higher inside the inverter as same CAN commands still works.
Oh, there was Mitsubishi inverter wIkipage after all, there was just no link from Mitsubishi motor wiki page. This model was listed there.
It is my understanding the inverters are the same and not limited. So by sending a torque command via canbus past the 60/70kw output will give you the desired power.
However its been recognized that the front generator side of the inverter does have an rpm limit, a torque limit and i believe a power limit.
Others have commented that the rear inverter does not have these limits, but it still needs to be tested what the limits are.
As in will it go beyond 200nm torque and/or beyond 10,500rpm via stock inverter canbus commands.
I noticed yesterday that the holes for the DC supply lines and the holes for the signal cables do NOT have the same dimensions.
In a couple of days I'll have a version for the signal holes as well, but it'll take some time for the new O-rings to be delivered (oh how I missed it...).
Edit: On a positive note though: I just published the gland for the auxiliary ports

there are so many topics on Mitsubishi, but it turns out to be very difficult to find the information I need. Does anyone use this motor with an open inverter board? share the configuration file if you have it. thank you.

There is some video of me running outlander rear motor and open inverter
I will try to get some settings from my records
this is very cool. but that doesn't answer my question. are there people here who drive this motor using any controller controlled by the v3 johu board? if yes, could you please share the settings file.json and point to the photo which resolver connection was used?
There are two that come to mind (probably others too): FFMan's BMW bobby_come_lately's Z3
Probably worth having a look through the threads or contacting them.
Worth noting that unless you have the inverter phase connections and the resolver connections exactly the same as them the syncofs value will be meaningless.
thank you. now I will sit down to read these topics. yes, that's why I wanted to see the settings file and the connection from one person so that it would work right away.

I've had my motor running in the car with a gen 2 Prius inverter and an Open Inverter board. It needed more tuning to be drivable at the time and I was too impatient for all that, so I switch to canbus controlled Outlander inverter for control.
Would certainly be worth trying again with the work that has been done running FOC on the OI boards.
Has anyone looked igbt module model and main capacitor voltage? 400v was verified to work, now looking HV limitations if inverter could do 108s somehow, not needed to get full 4.2v cell voltage - 4.1v (443v) would be nice

LRBen, what system or device are you using to handle CAN signal generation/communication to the Mitsubishi inverter ? I'm looking to try experiments with my Imiev inverter and motor and hopefully it's similar in its CAN language... anything that you can share with me would be very helpful. Cheers. (Obviously I also hope to use a Prius inverter in future too for potentially more peak power). Cheers from Australia.

I ran it on my own VCU design based on a teensy 3.6 and allot of code from aot93's VCU.
Although I'm in the middle of a battery swap and planning to use zombie next, just need to test the modified code.
