Gen3 inverter connector (not unobtainable)

Post by bexander »

Regarding the Gen3 inverter connector that used to be unobtainable can in fact be bought.

The housing can be bought from Toyota, cost was 89 SEK (~€8)!
Then terminals and wire seals are needed and after some web searching and testing I have concluded this BOM:

Connector housing:
Toyota G9260-47010, 36p
Toyota G9266-47010, 13p

Small terminal, 0.64:
0,22-0,35mm2
TE 1612290-1 (tested ok)
Sumitomo 8100-3455
Small wire seal:
Sumitomo 7165-1198
Small blind plug:
Sumitomo 7165-0797

Large terminal, 2.3:
0,3-0,5mm2
Yazaki 7116-4025 (tested ok)
Sumitomo 8100-0460
0,8-1,25mm2
Yazaki 7116-4026
Sumitomo 8100-0461
2,0mm2
Sumitomo 8100-0462
Large wire seal:
Sumitomo 7165-0342 D4,9mm d1,4-2,0mm
Sumitomo 7165-0343 D4,9mm d2,0-2,5mm
Sumitomo 7165-0344 D4,9mm d2,5-2,9mm
Large blind plug:
Sumitomo 7161-9787 D4,7mm

Terminal extraction tool
0.64 Terminals : Sumitomo 3070000 or 307-0000-03
2.3II Terminals : Precision screwdriver(1.2mm~1.6mm)

NOTE: The Sumitomo terminals are not tested but thay look the same as the ones I have tested and documents point to the Sumitomo extraction tool, hence my guess is they will fit as well.

Updated first post with part nr for the small 13p connector housing that clicks into the larger 36p connector housing.
