Questions about Gs450H gearbox

Post by thatwildman »

Good day all !

So I'm planning to use the GS540H tranny on my future dream EV and I have some questions:

1: what's the maximum output of this tranny in kw ?
2: what's the lowest voltage can be used with its inverter ?
3: how torquey is it from a stand still ? is it enough for burnouts?

that's it for now and thanks for taking the time to read :)

If you’re seriously considering this power train, read the GS450H VCU support thread start to finish. All these questions are answered there. There is a link to the Wiki page on page 1 of that thread. The GS450H Discussion thread is good too.

Thank you all for your support !
Since i made this post ive been doing daily researsches and i'm commited to go with the gs450h setup!
The thing is i coulndt find any seller that would ship to my counry (Saudi Arabia), so i gueuss it will take a long time to source the inverter and tranny.

the gs450h is nice but if it is difficult to source, take the path of least resistance, especially if it is your first conversion, don't worry it will still be a challenge, if I was to do it all over again I would seriously consider the Prius power train, it is by far the best bang for the buck, so let me share with you what you may already know:

as of this writing the Toyota "Cheese Wedge Styling" Prius, ha ha comes in four generations, some lend themselves to EV conversions others do not
