Which AC wallbox charger or DIY

Post by evMacGyver »

Which AC wallbox charger you are using and why? Is it good?

I've been using portable Audi charger for 1-phase 16A charging, but in long term 3-phase 11-22kW charger would be nice. I think huge Audi charger really have 6mA DC RCD built in, what I know many portable does not have. And what I have understand its not we are waiting for pure DC leakage current, instead normal AC type RCD saturates and does not function properly if there is DC current.

Some wallboxes need additional DC RCD (like Tesla), which are normally pricey. I have found few budget DC RCD, like this one:

No documentation found on the website, anyone have more info or alternative ones?

For charging I would like to integrate control to home automation, Domoticz in my case, in future it could control to charge on cheap electricity hours.

I recently bought the Heidelberg Energy Control and am very satisfied. It is available for €400 and can be controlled externally via Modbus. In my case I use it to charge only with solar power. Johu does that too and has written about it.
