define cheap, as I have seen them going for $800 bucks here in the states, and are you saying you know how to control one of these?
Here's a few options of yours and another variant on eBay for about $200 USD...

I don't yet have the ability to query one, that would be the next step of investigation. I've also been looking at VAG ones, with most of the older ones being 3.6 kW or 7.2 kW, but the more modern MEB ones have an 11 kW 3 phase option as well.

I just want to put this out there, if there is anyone out there interested in helping us out and reverse engineering this animal I will be happy to send it to them FREE of charge I will even pay for the shipping, as doing so myself is way beyond my abilities, all I ask for in return is that the information would be shared on this open forum for others to use, please and thank you

The elongated version was produced here in Hungary, and it was also included in the Volvo XC90, redesigned and with different software. I know how to fix it, but not how to program it yet, even though I tried it for a while. :(

My neighbour has a 330e, should be able to either get him to let me take a can log or get one under the cover of darkness if you don't have one already

gentlemen, ladies, mount your tin foil hats we about to start our very own conspiracy theory, and here's your chance to get in on the grass roots level

so I take the bmw charger to the US (pronounced: American) Post Office and ask what do I needs to do to ship it to Ireland, the lady there helps me fill out the Customs form ("helps" being the key operative word here) then she weighs the package, takes my money, asks me what's inside, (I say automotive battery charger) she counters with the classic dear in headlights look, "electronic component" she retorts, I say sure, then takes more money, ha ha and off it goes

many weeks later ....

oh goodness kind sir, you are the last person on earth to be apologizing for this, this is standard operating procedure here in the states and I should have known better, no one has ever shipped something out of the country successfully on their first attempt
