bmw i3 LIM upgrade

Post by deflagmator »

Hello,

I have one i3 94Ah. I never had problems in chargers <=50kW. But recently I tried on several CCS chargers > 50kW (1000V) and no one works. I have investigated and found that i3 < 2017 has one LIM module limited to 500V.

Power Limits
The limits for pre-2017/26 (Week 26 of 2017) are 0V-500V 0A-250A, post 2017/27 (Week 27 of 2017) 0V-1000V -500A-+500A.

This probably indicates when they moved from DIN 70121 only to ISO 15118.
My question is: Can I "upgrade" the LIM module to the 61356828052 that seem to work with 1000V fast chargers?

Thanks. ( Sorry for my spanglish).

What about buying a brand new one that is capable then just get it coded into the vehicle by someone who specializes in retrofitting or modified coding of bmw's? The same sort of way when people upgrade their radios or other modules, it usually here in New Zealand requires someone a bit more willing than the dealer to program it
