Install CCS Charge Port and CP-ECU Because Telsa Disabled Supercharging

Post by wpgskydiver »

I recently purchased a Repaired Tesla Model 3, before completely the sale I tried the Supercharger to make sure all was good with my 2019 Used Model 3, All worked fine, so I purchased the car, WELL, one week later I wanted to go on a long trip so before leaving I tried to charge at supper charger and NO GO, I called tesla to see issue, and they said they disabled it because it was rebuilt, I advised them, that was almost 2 years ago and all worked ok until this week, they had no response except to say they would not help me, I checked with Insurance company and was told it was general damage with no safety issues, just the return was better on selling for repair than to repair, so a financial reason and not a safety issue. :(
So here I am with Zero DC charging because Tesla will not help me.
Here is the question?
Can I add a Model 3 CCS CP with the US ECU and it just work without programming? If not is there a Hack patch that will allow this to work?
I would like to also disable Tesla's ability to connect to my car for any reason, I reserve the right to repair and do not want them playing with my property.
Thanks
GF

My guess is that you'd need at least some of the European charge control, not just the charge port, to actually manage communication with a station.

When it comes to disabling Tesla's access, my understanding is that it is exceptionally difficult, but possible. To the best of my knowledge the only person (or at least only person offering publicly to do so) that can go in an disable access is Jason Hughes aka @wk057. He doesn't seem to be a big fan of open source but he's gotten deep into Tesla's systems. Your best bet is probably with him.

You could build a separate system aside from Tesla's to charge the battery. Saying that it might involve quite some work.
