Hello!

Post by folkers »

Evening! I’ve been sat in the background of the forum for some time now, so thought I had better introduce myself.
I currently own a VW T4 Transporter camper conversion, and have been researching ways to ‘EV’ it for some time now.
Our other car is an MG5 EV so would be great to make the switch 100%!!
Looking at this as a long term budget build so welcome advice, tips etc. I guess my most expensive purchase will be the inverter and battery packs, motor wise - I was considering an Outlander rear motor, with the reduction gears/shafts still fitted so I could try and adapt it to fit the T4 by sourcing parts from the T4 syncro rear setup. I’ve heard the Outlander motors are a bit lacking on power, although the long term plan would be to make 4x4 anyway with a separate motor up front. Has anybody done this on an EV conversion using an outlander?

Cheers
