Has anyone used a Chevy Tahoe Hybrid transmission?

Post by buzz86us »

I was just curious about this since it appears to be a very similar part to the Lexus 450H

I looked at these for a bit too. Maybe similar to the Lexus, but not compatible at all.
They have a pair of Remy motors which are rather high-power. I'm not aware of anyone using one in a conversion yet.
Apparently the battery was 330V, and each motor was rated for 90kw.

Someone said in that thread that each motor could handle 600A at 700V continuous - that seems a little optimistic. But lots of available power. At least 60kw continuous per motor, maybe up to 120/180kw each.

If they are Remy, and they are the parallel winding ones, yes, they can handle 600A at 700V... :) Maybe based on the HVH250-090-DOM:

Edit: I had the 115 curve up here, oops. Fixed with the 90.

That sounds interesting. :)

That graph is for 600A, lines are voltages 350,500,600,700V.

The cores are the 090S model, not the DOM, at least as far as anyone can tell.

Bringing this thread back to life to document some information I found. In the long run, I want to pick up one of these transmissions and integrate it into the Zombieverter system, but that likely won't be until next summer at the earliest. In the meantime, I spent an hour or two hunting around for information this morning (and procrastinating on yard work because it rained last night).

GM's Code for this transmission: 2ML70

Was used in:
2008-2013 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid
2008-2013 GMC Yukon Hybrid
2009 Dodge Durango Hybrid
2009 Chrysler Aspen Hybrid
2009-2013 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid
2009-2013 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid(aka GMT900)
2009-2013 GMC Sierra Hybrid(aka GMT900)
2010-2011 BMW X6 ActiveHybrid
2010-2011 Mercedes ML 450 hybrid

Wiki on it's development, explains why it ended up in those brands:
