Porsche canbus dbc files

Post by EV_Builder »

Ok basically in need of any dbc file you have or can find from any Porsche.

Trying to shed some light on the mysteries on my Panamera 970...

There's one in the Zero EV build thread.

My Porsche (2000 986) has minimal CAN and the ABS works fine as it is. I want to switch the cluster out for a CAN one though.

Best thing to do would be look if someone engineswapped one and reach out to them.

Thanks how I found the boxster canbus info. However the boxsters are very very crude and the ABS system is mainly standalone.

Ok guys! I'm like in maniac mode = on now!

Look at this:
MIM Capture.PNG
I build-ed further on my CANBus suite so now it accepts 3 Adapters (USB peaks) and i can play with stuff.
The ID list you see is coming from that particular interface.

underwater i re-join (or not) the canbusses again by software (forwarding messages).

@Damian; I also made a very nice CANBus Log comparer...maybe i pull that part out one day and release it to the open...

Does the .dbc contain data for individual wheel speed off the ABS system? I believe it uses the same style as the E46M3, which is common as a standalone motorsport integration. Im interested in possibly using the Boxster version as the dynamics are likely programmed closer to my needs in terms of vehicle weight distribution. Id like to pull wheel speed data and integrate that into traction control.

I have the E46M3 data, but havent delved into the Porsche stuff.

Hi ,

I got some battery modules from a cayenne (Bosch 13s 48 volt) , they have canbus.
Do you think it is possible to get data from it through CAN ?

Would be great for home storage.....

Thanks Rod
