Audi etron Boost
Hi Forum. Not sure if it’s been mentioned before or that well known but after watching Fifth Gear last evening I was impressed with the Audi Boost idea. Applying full throttle allows 8 secs of Boost over and above the max they say. Maybe we could utilise that ourselves if batteries, inverters and drive train are not at risk ? Allowing maybe a limit such that RPM has to be above a value too so you can’t have Boost from start. Easy to implement with CAN. Would be like kick down in an auto. Please don’t confuse this ‘Boost’ with Boost already on the software.

Re: Audi etron Boost
Hmm. Sounds like a burst maximum power because of battery ratings (which are almost always the limiting factor in production EVs).
I don't think it's very easy to 'add power' unless we already have a limiting factor that is not in motor/inverter since the tuning procedure pushes things pretty close to the limits.
So if someone is using idclim then they can just bump that up temporarily, but otherwise there's not much to be done.
