Hantek on linux

Post by thornogson »

Hi people , in order to improve in the workshop I now have an ancient Ipad to talk to the wifi , I have loaded an old laptop with ubuntu and bought myself the minimum solution to the oscilloscope problem for hunting sine waves, a Hantek 1008c which works well on their windows software on my main laptop but doesn't work on the linux machine , can anyone recommend software that will make the Hantek show what it sees on ubuntu ?
TIA John

My experience with Hantek on linux is that the oscilliscope loads software from the application rendering it useless on linux.
The solution seemed to be: figure out the specifications you really need, and buy a real oscilloscope that meets those specs.
A two channel 10MHz scope can do an awful lot.
The cost of bad information from poor quality test gear can be quite high.
