Tesla Model 3 Drive Unit Model / 3D Scans

Post by nkiernan »

Does anyone know if there are detailed/accurate 3D models or scans of the Tesla Model 3 front and rear drive units that would work in Solidworks? It's been discussed on the forum a while back and there are some basic scans on Grabcad, but checking if there is anything more detailed available since.

If anyone has access to one I can gladly do some rudimentary scanning with my structure sensor.

Got rough dims from the grabcad model and mocked up in 'real' CAD! So no need to try get a scan if not already available. Was just checking, cheers. Interestingly, the TM3 rear drive motor size looks to fit up front ok, but not so straightforward at the rear without changing the angle of the axle shafts.

You can convert the grabcad to a SOLIDWORKS solid.
(Import the grabcad in SOLIDWORKS).

In the thread I posted how I did it.
Converting an Porsche Panamera
see http://www.wdrautomatisering.nl for bespoke BMS modules.
