Mounting motor/inverter/PDM separately...

Post by Greenbeast »

Can someone point me to any projects where the leaf stack components were separated and mounted independently?

Interested because I'm wondering if I could mount the inverter and charger forward of the motor and leave a nice large, square area for batteries/HVJB above them all

it is dangerous to put batteries in the front, in case of an accident they will be damaged, instead of a gas tank and a silencer. and the center of gravity is lower

I did that in mine. Note that I did add some cable protector and proper cable mounts and I would recommend a ground sleeve/mesh for the motor phase cables for EMI reasons, it's on my late to-do list. As for the PDM, it has cables already, just cover the extra holes you aren't using.

Yes I've read that before, I've also seen plenty of batteries put up front

Do you already have the motor and inverter?

If you get the Mk1 Leaf motor and inverter they are already separated. The leads are around 30cm long.
