em57 inverter dc connection cover
cad files for the em57 inverter dc connection cover iv been working on
*****
updated design: https://github.com/bratindustries/leaf-inverter-cover
****
designed for use with
- m8 hardware to bolt to the inverter + phase connections.
-2/0 cable and crimps.
-14mm(?) cable glands
work in progress. recent updates and changes haven't been tested yet.
may have to change the cable layout.
-no seal yet for the removable cap
- potential clearance issue with bolting one of the dc connections
- no threads for cable glands currently

Re: em57 inverter dc connection cover
Thats sweet!
Now, I am using the terminal box also as a DC-junction box where I connect the DC-DC converter (and would connect heater and charger if I had one). That means some fuses and additional cable glands. May be out of scope but should you ever feel like extending it more

Re: em57 inverter dc connection cover
you’ll be the first testing the current design! Things are a bit tight, definitely recommend a fast print for initial trail

Re: em57 inverter dc connection cover
nice work!, any chance you can also share .stp files for those of us too poor to have Solidworks
I'm working on a version of this myself.

I’m going to be away from my work station for a while. And theirs plenty of ways to convert to stp or iges, stl, etc

Re: em57 inverter dc connection cover
Very neat so far, the lid is printing now. Tight fit with the seal at the bottom is also good! Thank you very much for sharing.
Only thing we were thinking about this morning was, how are you going to tighten the nuts in there properly. We will struggle to get a spanner in there, might amend the design either in CAD or with a rasp!

Re: em57 inverter dc connection cover
Wow looks great in HV orange! yes that was my concern aswell. Was going to continue to add in features for nuts to lock into. Then bolts just screw in. The hardware for locking the the entire assembly to the Inverter is designed as such. As well as the larger opening for the dc connection.
maybe have to just change the entry point for the cables, and use the larger hole opening on both dc inputs.

Re: em57 inverter dc connection cover
my EM57 inverter DC-in cover. I printed a test part and it's pretty thin and fragile. I've since decided to run these busbars directly into my High Voltage Junction Box and just design a seal to go between. For anyone interested in printing or modifying my design it can be found here: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/ff8b4 ... 81dd039fa4
If anything there's a decent reference of the EM57 you can use to design your own.
it's in 3 parts and designed to be printed without supports.
