I would like to buy a "Salvage / Junk Yard" motor ..looking at M3 RU with cradle and suspension...it's a good chunk of change, so can the M3 Invertor be bypassed and tested to weed out any issues like bearings, or other mechanicals, and basic rotation ?
Was thinking that a 3 phase speed controller could be a candidate. If feasible to use a 3 phase driver, what would the min HP output needed to turn a free-standing "bench unit" ?
Any other guidance is greatly appreciated...Thanks in advance!

Yup just separate the inverter and the phase connections are easy to tap into.
Prius inverters are cheap. I think. Damien was using one to spin the model 3 motor so that’s already proven
