Is the 192.168.4.1 connection secure/can it be accessed by others?

Post by JustARegularNoob »

Hello,

New to the forum here!

When connecting to 192.168.4.1 on a laptop from the wi-fi on the inverter board, can the connection be accessed by others, and therefore can the configuration settings on the inverter be altered by strangers in the vicinity?
Or could I set a password on the network to only be accessed by me?

Just a bit cautious about this...

Thanks,
Mark

The wifi module supports WPA2 so you can set a password.

It's on my list. After boot, wait 1 min. and disable the wifi module if no connection has been made.

Or even better enable / disable by CAN message.

Would it be easy?

You would need to change the firmware of the wifi module to receive commands from the STM32. Or redesign the hardware to be able to turn off power to wifi
