good price for a all in one.

Do you think you squeeze more out of it from the original power output ?

BMW bumf

"The maximum power of 65 kW can be provided for a maximum of 10 seconds. The electrical machine provides a continuous power of approx. 45 kW as from 5000 rpm.

The maximum torque of 250 Nm is already available from standstill of the electrical machine.

The efficiency of the electrical machine is up to 96 %. The speed range is from 0 to 7200 rpm."

Nice Purchase. The 3 phase plug to connect to the gearbox is hard to find and the cables are expensive. I purchased the cable from a scrap yard in Germany but it was still expensive. I am sure you will find a better soloution?

Picked up a HV cable, loom and shifter from a local scrap yard for 150 Euros. Considering what some are charging for a tarted up forklift motor and controller then that doesn't seem too bad to me.

Yes I saw you had the cable in your video that you posted shortly after my comment. You are good at getting good prices.

Does it look like a typical BMW inline 6 block would bolt right up or adapter needed?

Had a quick dig and found some stuff not mentioned here from what I have seen.

This appears to be the box that BMW are using on ZF's site, According to the data here it contains a 90KW peak motor, 250NM torque. Integrated Pump and the motor is water/oil cooled. Also has a cutout view which may be of use.
https://www.zf.com/products/en/cars/products_34949.html

Another site here has a good breakdown of multiple internal parts, Five internal clutches, I presume one is to decouple the ICE as mentioned in the ZF listing, the rest to switch internal gear ratios? There are four planetary gearsets inside so presume various combinations used to get 8 speeds.
https://www.automaticchoice.com/en-gb/b ... -catalogue Not sure if these are hydraulically driven, or electrically/ something else.

There is a technical manual available but this site only supplies business to business, not to individuals. Of course no prices listed.
https://www.automaticchoice.com/en-gb/8hp45-man01

Also mentioned on XF is the availability of all wheel drive with this box, I presume there is a variant floating around with a transferbox such as this
https://www.proxyparts.com/car-parts-st ... d/6990499/
*Looks* like it simply bolts inbetween the standard output of the normal box.

The motor speed sensor is listed here, probably off the shelf but could be BMW internal. Looks to read "pbt g530" "706-066" Can't find any data on it with a quick search. https://www.automaticchoice.com/en-gb/8p75-ele02

There is a product just about to be released to control the none hybrid 8hp bmw gearboxes using the original tcu using can and bypassing the immo. No plans to cover the hybrid version as yet but he might if there is enough interest. https://www.canformance.net/shop/

Just posted in my project thread but I have the motor doing what it's supposed to do. I'd been working with a failing current sensor from day one. Now that it's fixed, all's well.
