BMW Hybrid Components

Post by Jack Bauer »

Despite my favorite automaker not making a real car since around 2003/2004 they do seem to now have some parts we can potentially use in the shape of hybrid components such as the ZF 8 speed gearbox with motor and electric oil pump :

A search for "GA8P75HZ" on ebay is a good place to start.

Now of course cue the " I looked for a whole 30 seconds and can only find them for 10 million dollars" ...............
I'm going to need a hacksaw

I have one of these in my shed. They are very heavy around 110kg. The gearbox and parking brake are controled by CAN the same can bus as the battery I think.
If anyone who is good with CAN bus wants to make me an offer for it please message me.

I am in Cumbria UK.
