New Electric Couplers and Adaptor Plates
Update 30/10/2019 - NE are no longer selling the Leaf coupler
Some questions have been asked about the Leaf coupler used by Johannes (here). I've discussed this with my colleagues in Amsterdam and can confirm they are selling a new version of the coupler ("puck") to end users
The puck costs €250 and uses the exact DIN norm of the Leaf spline. Included in this price is the drilling of a bespoke bolt pattern to match the flywheel you are using. Some bolt patterns are already on file but if you have something exotic they just need a dimensioned drawing of the bolt pattern or you can send them a flywheel and they will do it for you.
Blank pucks are also available for €225 if you want to drill your own flywheel holes
I can also confirm that New Electric can supply adaptor plates for mounting motors to gearboxes. They have many motors and gearboxes on file but if not they just need a dimensioned drawing.
Attached are some photos of the puck and adaptor plate for the Siemens motor.
If you need more information please contact New Electric Conversions (website). Here's the email address info@n-e-c.nl

Re: New Electric Couplers and Adaptor Plates
Hi all,
A small update on the leaf couplers.
As you have noticed New Electric is quite busy at the moment.
Myself I am also based in the Netherlands and am working together with them for quite a while now in the conversion of my 1967 Volvo Amazon wagon. I am now involved in getting these couplers (and other stuff) available. Over the next couple of weeks we will be setting up a website (at least in English and probably also in Dutch) and a webshop. I will keep you posted.

Re: New Electric Couplers and Adaptor Plates
Yes, thanks for the ping.
We have found and ordered the tooling required to make the splines and it was delivered last week.
Currently we are engineering the puck and adapter plate. It will probably become a 2-piece adapter. A CNC milled part to attach to the Leaf motor and then a lasercut part that mounts onto that and the gearbox.
We expect to have the first batch of pucks ready in September.

Re: New Electric Couplers and Adaptor Plates
An update on this topic. We need to go back to the drawing board a bit so we are expecting a delay. Cannot say when we will have the first batch ready but anticipate on a later date than early September. Hope late September is feasible. Will keep you posted.
It will be worth waiting!
The spline cutting tool has been delivered (but turned out to be slightly different than we expected but that should not be an issue).
Next step is to have the Leaf motor face 3D scanned for 100% accuracy.

Re: New Electric Couplers and Adaptor Plates
Thanks for asking. I can provide you with an update, but unfortunately it's not very good news as we are not able to make it to have them ready in September. At this moment I cannot indicate when we will. Will update again once we are further ahead in the production process and I can share a reliable date for a first batch to be available.

Re: New Electric Couplers and Adaptor Plates
I've had a chat with the guys in The Netherlands and they have decided not to proceed with the Coupler and Adapter Plate project at this time
