Hey everyone.
I know there is a ton of knowledge on this forum and would love to tap into your ideas.
Problem:
We have a large Beche power hammer for blacksmith work. It requires a 3ph input at 28 hp and we only have a 200 amp service @ single phase (220v)
We already have three hammers running off VFD's and Rotary phase converters, but we are running out of power.
28 hp relates roughly between 20-25 KW
Potential solution:
Using an EV or hybrid battery inverter and solar system to operate the large hammer.
Can we reliably create 3phase @ 240v for the kind of amperage I am considering?
Sometimes the power hammer runs for hours at a time.
How big of a battery and or solar array would be needed?
Could we use a smaller battery and array in combination with a charger to keep the battery topped up when the sun is less reliable?
SO many questions!!! thank you all in advance.
