So I've been playing around with Anderson Connectors and this morning I thought hmmm what if I tried fitting an Anderson SB120 connector in one of the AC or DC "ports" to see if we could eliminate those proprietary tubular connectors, and whalla it fits perfectly, so this got me all excited and I wanted to share it with you all and see what you think?
of course I would still screw it down
even the lid closes perfectly with it there, no mods needed
and here is what I was using prior (yes this is just for testing)
this is the OEM wire harness that originally goes there
I started documenting the crap out of this charger on the DIY Electric Car forum before I knew any better, ha ha

Re: Tesla Gen 2 Charger Connector Idea
I rather like it, at least on the DC side. AC we have 3 phases here.
Do you see a need to bolt it down or is it stable like that?

Re: Tesla Gen 2 Charger Connector Idea
it butts up against something and won't slide back into the box when plugging something into it, but it does freely slide forward, at least without any wires plugged in to the back of it, but I wouldn't want to depend on just the internal AC charger wires holding it in, bolting down the case may give it some resistance / support as well, mine is just resting on it

Re: Tesla Gen 2 Charger Connector Idea
Agree for the DC side saying that it might be smart to fuse the modules separately.

Re: Tesla Gen 2 Charger Connector Idea
Are they fused in Teslas junction box? Are the modules already fused perhaps?
