Full Disclosure, I did not need 3 inverters I only got them for science please see a thread called: Grid Tie Inverters - What's the difference?

Re: The Greg's Grid Tie Solar Project
so I'm having fun with this project and have tried a number of different configurations, here I have it setup as three different systems 1. Solar East (four 100 watt panels and one 12v inverter) 2. Solar South (four 100 watt panels and one 24v inverter) 3. Solar West (four 100 watt panels and one 36...

Re: Prius Gen 2 EPAS - Electric Power Assist Steering
Gregski, you inspired me to create a wiki page, with links to this thread as well as your posts from the project thread. https://openinverter.org/wiki/Toyota_Prius_Electric_Power_Assist_Steering I was going to upload some of your pictures of the EPAS unit from your project thread, but it asks you t...

Re: GS450H Discussion
Is it possible to run MG2 motor without making any connections to MG1, would like to physically remove it. I'm currently doing that in my truck build, in Phase I, I only plan on driving around on MG2, but I do not plan on removing MG1 just not connecting it, somewhere around this video on my channe...

Re: The Greg's Grid Tie Solar Project
Not too bad of a result for an experiment! Yeah definitely going to be a battle optimizing panel angle to match peak cost/use time. Mostly because the sun won't be in the same place at the same time every day. You should write your local astronomer about that! I'll no longer wonder where you get al...

Re: Grid Tie Inverters - What's the difference?
Those are the high frequency transformers, most high frequency inverters like this work this way: 1. low voltage dc is pulsed into these transformers at very high frequency with a bunch of low-ish voltage MOSFETS. This allows a lot of power to be put through the transformers without requiring a hug...

Re: The Greg's Grid Tie Solar Project
Because electricity costs must be incomprehensible in the State of California (it's in our Constitution, look it up) we do not pay a flat rate per hour, but it varies from Peak, Off-Peak, Post-Peak, Mid-Peak, Peak-Peak, Off-Mid-Peak, Mid-Peak-Off-Peak, you get the idea, lol this is why I rather prod...

Re: The Greg's Grid Tie Solar Project
on this episode of First World Problems (FWPs) we talk about what can The Greg do to not overproduce energy between the hours of 11:00 am and 3:00 pm sending it back to the grid, but selfishly keep it for himself. Option 1 . Simply rotate the current South facing solar panel array and point it more ...

I know that sounds too good to be true so here is an update in the spirit of full disclosure 1. Re: The Greg's Grid Tie Solar Project
No "Backfeeding" means your "grid tie" inverter is recklessly powering the transformer on the street, stepping up your voltage to 6kV. Powerline workers can get killed by such contraptions (especially if you have it on a timer 🤦♂️), which is why it's illegal to grid tie anythin...
