Re: Need middleman/help in UK [SOLD]

Thanks for the offer, but everything is sorted out. Just me being slow with the "sold" button. But will have it in mind, for next time. Don't really understand the shipping problem, had no problem with the package I got. Is it because of covid or brexit, that some companies will not ship a...

Re: Porsche Boxster with Siemens and DMOC

Temperatures stayed very nice. Ambient was 15C which helped, but after 20 miles at 60-70 inverter only hit 36 and motor read 65 (that sensor is suspect, reading too high). What is temperature showing when it stay overnight? It should show same on inverter motor and ambient. I have used the Siemens ...

Re: Tesla Charger alternative firmware

Really happy, if the current jumping up and down issue has been fixed. Have installed 4 Tasla chargers, and it has been the same issue every time. It is worse at full power, not so much at low amps. Damien says: "Yes that's quite normal" https://openinverter.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&am...

Re: CAN bus instrument cluster + +

What do you mean when you refer to IAA board? Is that the larger board that your teensy add-on communicates with? Where is that from, the stock car? The IAA module is originally controlling the instrument cluster, and a lot of other tings like cabin heat radiator fan. I think it's called IAA module...

Re: Driver-IC for 16-20KHz PWM signal // suggestions ?

The DRV 103, is a good option.
Have not used it, but have used the DRV 102 with tesla contactors (had a lot of them laying around)
It just works! :)

Re: Ford Ranger Inverter board Support Thread

Since I never found a reason to modify the TIM connectors it looks like we left the inverter in charge of the precharge relay. TIM Controls precharge.JPG Contactor Box.JPG That looks very sane, the precharge (pin 18) is only for the main contactors, controlled by the TIM. The precharge for AUX rela...

Re: Ford Ranger Inverter board Support Thread

It's probably OK to use the old contactor box. It's just that I have spendt many MANY hours on testing/measuring and blown up stuff, to get my own setup to work. And I'm not so keen on start on a new configuration/setup. The contactor box electronics is measuring the voltage before it close the cont...

Re: Ford Ranger Inverter board Support Thread

Nice to hear from you again. I have to think long and slow to remember this :) It's not that complicated, the picture is for the instrument mod and battery heater/cooler also! You need only two wires and a small signal diode. (The diode is obsolete, I can't see that it is needed anymore?) Wire from ...

Re: SMD soldering preferences?

I have used both oven and hot plate. And I prefer hot plate and hot air, then you have full control of components sliding, and can correct it. And you can apply just enough heat and see the solder melt. If I make one board I use manual solder pasting, but stencil is not very expensive any more. How ...

I'm more impressed by the mechanical and power electronics design.
We should be glad they make big boards, and not tiny boards that is normal in almost any other product.

This is made for EV use, according to documentation. But it's only two pins and some resistors, not very complicated. It at least made by a reliable manufacturer and can withstand corrosive environment. Only $14.65 Amphenol Coolant/Fluid Leak Detection Sensor: https://www.digikey.com/en/products/det...

Don't think that is necessary, the inputs are opto inputs and active high.
More important is to connect the right pin ;)
