I have:
Complete high and low voltage harness.
IOM
BCM

But why not change to Lipo, do you have NiMh batteries?

Re: Regen blows charger fuses ??

Just put a diode on the charger output. Maybe that is built in on your other charger. Yes I have thought about that but then the charger probably wont see that a battery is connected when starting to charge. Maybe connecting a diode with a 10K resistor in parallel so it can sense that battery volta...

Re: CAN bus instrument cluster + +

Hello Joromy This project is awesome. Where can we find the teensy breakout board ? I would like to do a similar project with my car to Controller non CAN cluster. I have not any more left, could order 10 boards if you are interested. EUR 20 for one PCB only. I don't have enough orders to make them...

Re: Simp BMS

I see your Charge Hysteresis is set to 200mV, and charge setpoint to 4200mV.
Then charging should not start, if cells are > 4000mV.
Could that be it?
Try setting Charge Hysteresis to 100mV

Re: get rid of wifi

I have wifi only in my main microcontroller, Teensy 4.0 with 4 CAN bus. Then I can control charger, inverter, BMS, heat/cool, instrument panel and more from one unit. This way I can have dedicated CAN bus for the inverter and BMS, and no trouble with different speed and CAN bus traffic. Would be nic...

This looks great!!
One thing that is annoying with old interface are the "name value unit min max default" is scrolled away.
Would be nice if it was static, but you may already be ahead with that?

Re: GPIO Pin only triggers with less than 30 Ohm pre-resistor

Inputs have max rating of 3,6V, some of the inputs are 5V tolerant, but I always put a 10k in series to be sure.
This pdf may help to understand the different methods of input/output circuitry.

Re: Tesla SDU capacitor size / precharge

Thanks for the help :) I gather that it’s the inrush of current which can damage the Capacitors, by extending the time I think I also lower the current? Therefore extend the lifetime or mitigate the risk to the capacitors. The main reason for precharge is to save the main contactor, and the resisto...

Re: Tesla Charger Support Thread

We got two gen 2 chargers and opened them today. Turns out one of them was WET on the inside. Not water from the cooling outlets, definitely from within the unit. If it came from a wrecked car, it could very well be rainwater, or removed and then get wet. It's not very whether proof even when lying...

Re: STM32 woes

As Bart just found out, JLCPCB have removed the STM32F103RBT6 from their library. Like completely, it's not even an extended part. For those who don't know, that is the main processor that has been used for openinverter for the last 10 years. Also it seems the price has exploded to around $12. I ha...

What can I do with a STM32G431 3ph dev board?

Just got this STM32G431 dev board for BLDC/PMSM. It has CAN, FOC, current sensing, encoder and even a ST-link debugger/programmer. But what can I use it for, can I beef it up to drive a IGBT. Looks very capable, will be fun to play with. Price $19.15 https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/stmicr...

Lots of Eltek 3kw chargers, have used some of them, they are CAN bus operated.
100-250VAC input 250-420VDC output.
Now they are really cheap!

Hi, and welcome. Very cool project!!
The tesla board is made specifically for tesla motor.

The ver3 board is more allround board.

Ideally, what should the sequence of precharge and contactors closing be for the truck upon start up? The basics behind contactor and startup sequence. Drive: 1. Negative contactor close. (By BMS) 2. Precharge relay for TIM close, and charge up the capacitors. 3. Inverter will close Positive contac...

Re: Charging from a generator ?

Heh... i just got a crazy idea... You could take the REX and inverter unit and put it in a house/basement. Then you would take coolant hoses and loop them in a water container for some 800L. You could wire the inverter output to some solar inverter and make electricity and hot water. Additionaly yo...
