Re: Jaguar Ipace ISA shunt

Got it working with SIMP BMS. case 0x3C3: // Jaguar Ipace ISA shunt current reading CANmilliamps = inMsg.buf[5] + (inMsg.buf[4] << 8) + (inMsg.buf[3] << 16) + (inMsg.buf[2] << 24); if ( settings.cursens == Canbus) { RawCur = CANmilliamps; getcurrent(); } break;

Re: Leyland 255 Tractor - Nissan Leaf EM61

Got the clutch in just fine in the end by making my spacer a little bit shorter on the lathe. Making up the brackets for the inverter today which should be finished next week, then I am also planning to start getting the cab parts back on so I can look at fitting the new steering column. Should star...

Re: Oil or water cooling

I have a rear Outlander Motor in my build. Running one coolant loop through the motor, inverter and charger. I think ideally you would want to separate out the motor since it runs a bit hotter than the inverter and charger. But I haven't had any issues with my setup so far in terms of heat. Only usi...

Re: Leyland 255 Tractor - Nissan Leaf EM61

I decided to use EM57 electric motor for my tractor that known as Fiat 640 in my country. The engine power output is 75 hp and RPM of the engine is 2500. EM57 should be just fine in that. The only concern I think will be heat, since the use case of tractors is allot different to cars. We are using ...

Re: Leyland 255 Tractor - Nissan Leaf EM61

Hi, I've planned same project for my father to make an EV tractor and same ideas also but one thing in my mind how can we reduce motor rpm because there is big difference of tractor engine and motor rpm. A tractor engine rpm is 2500 but a ev motor rpm upto 10000 how did you reduce them.? What Crasb...

Re: Leyland 255 Tractor - Nissan Leaf EM61

I used my 3d printed tool to align the adaptor plate today. Then reattached the motor to the other side. PXL_20230408_105336749.jpg I then had to lift the whole thing out once more to get the clutch assembly on. PXL_20230408_170423605.jpg After all that it looks like the flywheel is still a few mm t...

Re: Leyland 255 Tractor - Nissan Leaf EM61

Got the motor in last weekend! PXL_20230406_162842366.jpg Took a better look at it this week and realised that the motor isn't quite aligned with the gearbox input shaft. So drilled out the holes on the adaptor plate to give it a bit of wiggle room. Currently printing out an alignment tool so tomorr...

Re: can id´s 4 Gear Selector

Hope this can help a bit. I tested both the new Gen1 and Gen2 sketches on my unit. So like VanGogh, neither is getting any action from the selector. However, from previously running some of Tom's CAN logs from Savvycan, the knob did raise but wouldn't retract. When Gen1 sketch started running, the ...

I'll be there on the Friday.

Been quiet on here over the winter. But busy on the restoration stage. Endless wire brushing and painting when temperatures allowed, with the end still not in sight. Spent far more than I was planning on new bushes, seals, bearings etc. However there is progress on the EV side of things as well. Mot...

Re: Initializing a new ISA shunt with ZombieVerter

Out of interest what ISA shunt do you have? I have an ISA shunt from an Ipace and it seems that has defaults that are different to the normal ISA shunt. However that doesn't have voltage read capabilities, so not that useful for the Zombieverter.

Re: Registering and changing tax class of an EV conversion in the UK

It seems to me this has sort of helped to solidify the situation, if the ongoing position is that any car post 2001 cannot have their fuel type/tax changed. So with any pre 2001 car, don't cut chassis or bodywork, only use existing structure to avoid IVA. Tax and log book can be changed Post 2001, i...

Re: Jaguar Ipace ISA shunt

Bit more on this. I tried to reset it to defaults via canbus commands, and I am pretty sure the canbus message ID are hard coded as even resetting to defaults doesn't cause them to change.

Will take another look at getting SIMPBMS to read the current soon and update.

Thanks! That look's rather simple to do. I would imagine in that case you would just need to ask for 32amps on the canbus and it will switch automatically. That's very handy!

Re: MEB Chargers

I have a Cayenne two phase 7.2kW charger. Part number 5QE 915 681 BQ. Got it responding to 0x570 DLC8 0xFF 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 on PT CAN at 1 sec intervals. Same as the Seat Mii Damien has, which is probably unsurprising given the part numbers are very similar. I also then get some can dat...

Re: can id´s 4 Gear Selector

Got a working arduino due script for selecting modes and lights. Currently I can't get the S mode light to work. However I can select it without the selector locking up. It was a bit tricky to figure out. The two cycling values in 0x3F3 are in relation to each other. It also locks up for a couple of...

So you just need 0x3F3 to raise and unlock the gear selector, sending every 20ms. No changing lights yet, but I do get the gear selector sending back gear change canbus messages. Just need to write in the changing of messages depending on value of byte 2 in 0x312 #include "variant.h" #incl...

Re: MEB Chargers

So I have a dumb question that I haven't been able to find the answer too. Figured I would ask it on here in case anyone else had the same thoughts. What's the point with some of these chargers being two phases? Surely that means most home chargers are going to be limited to the single phase 3.6kW c...

Looked through the canbus logs and figured out the rough patterns. These are the two important messages from what I can tell. 0x3F3 ID from Tester to gear selector Byte 0. 5C in park, 7C for not parked 1. 66 in park, 24 in R, 25 in N, 24 in D 2.
