Some of it means. Be aware of the treacherous ice.
Could look very thick an solid, but very thin some places, because of the currents.
If a black cat just crossed your path, you should be extra aware!?

Re: New open source Isolation monitor?
Looks great.
Do you have the PCB layout ready tonight, or do I have to wait for tomorrow.
Its a little different use of components, don't you want to use the same design as Ti?
Did you use this document for ref?

Re: Tesla Charger Support Thread
Ref. ver 3 board and EVSE.
I use the OUT1 to activate HV DC charge contactor, and it works.
And I don't have precharge for the DC charge contactor.
Is it okay to do it this way?

Re: Inverter powered battery heating
It's very interesting, have read it, don't get me wrong! But if you think "normal" use of an EV, in cold winter climate: Charging, maybe in a garage, over night, with in car heatpump. And structured work time departure. If you park outside at work, without charging, then you must rely on g...

Re: Inverter powered battery heating
Thinking outside the box = Johannes H. I love it! But you will not get any less energy consumption, than using any other resistance heating. And the uncertainty of battery health at low temperatures. That's maybe why EV manufacturer don't use this. And if the car already has heatpump, it would be du...

Re: Ford Ranger Inverter board Support Thread
Thank you, I'm a little old school, and like to have everything in one drawing...... The motor temp sensor is KTY84, it's about 5C to high. Don't know why. But the temp sensors on the Ford (Siemens) motor often read to high temp. But the Ranger EV is 20 years now. The temp sensor in the inverter mus...

Re: New open source Isolation monitor?
That is great.
But a device like this must have CAN!
Have used the Leonardo from hobbytronics, very useful, for simple CAN projects.
But there may be other "simple" microcontrollers with CAN support?

Re: Tesla charger and battery. Simp BMS and inverter.
No offence taken, negative feedback is the the most positive feedback..... :D On charger DC side, I only get 0.3A @300V at PSU power on. Have not tested with scope, maybe I should, to get faster measurement. I had precharge on the DC side, but Damien wrote "charger has built in precharge, no ne...

New open source Isolation monitor?
Have been looking for a isolation monitor for my EV projects, for many years actually. Most ready build systems are expensive: https://www.bender.de/en/products/insulation-monitoring/isometer_ir155-3203ir155-3204 http://www.sendyne.com/Products/SIM100%20Isolation%20Monitor.html Found this reference ...

Re: Tesla charger and battery. Simp BMS and inverter.
Hi Tom. Have checked my connections and diagram, and cannot find anything wrong. I was just thinking it was a good idea to have charger controlling the charge contactor. And the inverter controlling the inverter contactor. It works, just plug in and charging starts. (and stops) https://www.youtube.c...

Re: Tesla charger and battery. Simp BMS and inverter.
Hello Tom. This is my setup for now. I use the pos contactor and precharge ouput from your BMS to engange the AUX high volt (DC/DC, battery heat/cool) The charger engage the pos charge contactor. And the inverter engage the precharge and contactor for inverter. When I open charge door and plug in, t...

Re: Ford Ranger Inverter board Support Thread
Yes will do that, this is only first prototype. Have only made 5.
We are five people testing this out now.
I'm currently out of stock.
So I will order more boards very soon.
I guess there will be enormous demand for this fantastic product

History Ford Ranger battery upgrade
The Ford Ranger is a factory build Electric pickup vehicle. Year 1999-2001. The lifetime of NiMh are very good, but many of these trucks would need new batteries. There is not any good solution for upgrading to new battery chemistries. Because the factory inverter, BCM (It's the BMS) and other modul...

Tesla charger and battery. Simp BMS and inverter.
Here I will try to give some information on the "perfect" marriage between Tesla battery and charger, Simp BMS , and the Inveter. Have also made an "main" ecu with display, that will control/talk to inverter, charger, BMS and instrument cluster via CAN. Will try to update this fi...

Re: Tesla Charger Support Thread
It's working:
I now get 23.8AAC reported from the EVSE!!!!
The manual says "Set the CAN mode to Master by sending '31'"
It should be 30 off. (if you have single charger)
But I still get some jumping down to 14AAC every few seconds, is that normal?

Re: Tesla Charger Support Thread
Hi, just got my charger set up for testing. And can't get the AMP up over 12AAC (7.5ADC) total for all modules. Have read all post on the old forum, and are of the impression that you could set any AMP in the setting, because the EVSE will have the last word? Have set the menu "7" to 5, 10...
