Re: What is Protistor and what it does?
I2T is a way to describe absorbing capabilities. Like a bucket; when its full it trips. But the bucket has a hole so if the fuse gets time to rest the bucket will empty; is it being over used during T time it will trip. That's what I2T means and does. So basically it gives an idea what the above nom...

Re: Emergency Stop Wiring
Is it an hardware signal or a software one?
Does it go to a logic gate for example or is it read as an input?
@OP:
So keep 12Volt high, but drop an relais which pulls this line to ground (on the correct place, in the correct way pull down?!?).. etc.

Re: Emergency Stop Wiring
If I was you I would try to bring the HVIL signal external. That signal is designed tobe Estopish behaviour. And still I advise to study it's working tobe sure you aren't safe by feeling instead of by design.

No expert yet on motor tuneing but the 4.4khz doesn't seem too high and also deadtime zero. Is something what caught my eye.
Are these correct?

Re: Switched ADC BMS
Having the BMS control contactors is generally a bad idea because disconnecting the battery under load is a good way of killing inverters. You can get away with it in low power aplications, like power tools (they generally use MOSfets to connect/disconnect the battery) and in fact it's very common ...

Materials aren't cheap. Some are gas filled. Reliability is an important cost driver too. So maybe it's more R&D then production costs.

Re: BMW S-Box Phev (SafeyBox 9846612)
A float is quite flexible I think something else is going on.... Normally a float is 4 bytes; in the code i only see 3 being Processed. I think you should try adding the 4th and maybe the value is just below zero sometimes.... To test you add byte nr [3] and you shift left (<<24). If you need more h...

Using charger logic is what i would do then the car regulates and enables by default every function you need for external addition of energy. most important one cooling (if needed) and shutdown when done charging? Tapping into CCS2 wires with relais making choices (real CCS2 or solar) etc. is then p...

Re: My Car tried to Kill me today (1973 Beetle +SDU Conversion), Potential Cruise Control Bug ?
I use both pedals in drag racing to warm up the tires, for drifting and when parking on curbs to better control performance and save time switching from one pedal to the other. In addition, when driving on the street, I want to use the second analog input and the brake light signal to variably cont...

Re: My Car tried to Kill me today (1973 Beetle +SDU Conversion), Potential Cruise Control Bug ?
I feared that. For me, braking and accelerating at the same time is a normal driving situation. It should be parameterizable, then everyone has the choice. Can you explain that? Street use? I think the product should follow and support the OEM logic. Anyway since we didn't seem to detect a brake si...

Exactly; and do filtering and sanity checks on the brake input signal / hw. When I'm at it I will come up with more ideas and hw etc.

Re: My Car tried to Kill me today (1973 Beetle +SDU Conversion), Potential Cruise Control Bug ?
I agree Pete for this moment it's the best quick solution.
Most important IMHO is respecting brake inputs.
And make a class which analyses input behaviour so its signal is uniform through the application and it's safe.
An error disables the drive and needs a reboot to clear.

Pistol coming: System safety starts with hw design.... then comes implementation level.... An CANBus driven inverter should start with implementing hw layer errors. CANBus perhipial errors. And that for all used perph in the hw in the micro. Do we auto resend? Do we know that we are auto resending? ...
