We have our Leaf Gen1 motor now, but no battery yet. I'm controlling the motor using CAN messages to the Leaf inverter. I found that under about 175 volts the inverter gives an error. I'm hoping to receive my gen1 motor in a week or so. I haven't got the batteries for the conversion yet. What battery voltage do I need to spin the em61 on the bench using the LEAF VCU ? - I'm hoping I can use 24 or 48v.

Looks like it would work. As long as you're happy with the resistor divider values (switch on voltage). Could there be a chance of the Precharge T/O relay chattering?

Maybe benefit with some hysteresis?

I am going to test using a combination of IGBT to turn on and turn off and use multiple low cost relay contacts (240Vac) in series to provide isolation. (controlled by micro which would have other functions) At 640 volts I'd want 3 contacts in series.
