Re: Lithium balance LiBal BMS

Thought I start a thread on this BMS. I bought one little bit over a year ago and now is the time to program it. I have Kia soul batteries. Anyone with experience on it? Is the software only possible to install via pc? Thanks for any comment What are the pricepoint on these? With one did you buy?

Re: Project One - printing mockup parts

why not spend some time in cad and clean up the models? will speed up print time and reduce plastic I did spend many. Could certainly get rid of many details to speed things up even further but I'm not in that hurry. Optimizing slice/speed settings during each print since im relearning 3d printing ...

Project One - printing mockup parts

Hello. Will update this 1st post along my progress on the build. Some 3d modeling/rendering is in the works and I have started to print out a full scale M3RDU for mockup whike I continue designing my future EV to be. This thread will follow more parts printed then it will become reality Grey filamen...

Re: Tesla Model 3 Rear Drive Unit Hacking

Took a couple of basic drive unit measurements: Max Width (from outside of mounting lug to mounting lug): 675mm Max Depth (back of DU to front edge of mounting lug): 565mm Measurements probably +/- 5mm at best. Checking against CAD model in DS Mechanical shows the width as 6752mm. So out by x10. II...

Re: Switched ADC BMS

I thought about placing an elcap on there and then rapidly switch between a cell that has excess charge and one that has too little. But there is so little charge being transferred that I dropped this idea. You could still have a strategy where you only ever charge low cells and never bleed any. Th...

Re: Tesla Model 3 Rear Drive Unit Hacking

It's still going. Progress is slow but forward. Took a while in the last few months to build a PC based tool to allow configuration of openinverter systems via CAN. Now working on getting CAN communications working reliably on the C2000 now I have a client. Will provide a more in depth update when ...

Re: Tesla Model 3 Rear Drive Unit Hacking

Overall dimensions seams to be correct in that scan and my model. Just want to be double checking. This will take a "few" days to print πŸ˜… so just confirming the first parts will make me a little calmer.

Re: Tesla Model 3 Rear Drive Unit Hacking

A little o.t. but does anyone have a DU that they can take a few measurements on? I would need the outer diameter of the "motor" part to check if my mockup 3d-printing scaling is correct

Re: Switched ADC BMS

Oh, one more thing that my brain is trying to understand.

Once you bleed one cell, this will go to waist through a resistor. It can't be used to another cell that needs it?

Forgive me for being a slow learner 😊

I hope I can contribute to get this motor spinning in my own project EV.

Do we know that all 980 motors are the one we want?

Mine has p/n 1120980-00-F

Re: Tesla Charger alternative firmware

Thank you Johu for considering release of the source code 😁 Forgive my laziness. But do I understand this correct, you are available to modify charging current on the "fly" via CAN if your BMS has this information and programmable CAN? Also, this firmware works on all charging boards? Gen2...

That's about right.
