Re: Registering and changing tax class of an EV conversion in the UK
To be fair shes not wrong in terms of the road safety aspect. Alot of builds have lithium batteries piled into the engine bay - If there was a bad enough collision it could turn bad pretty quick if any were damaged.

Rather annoying but this seems to have died, no response to my messages since the initial phone call. There is a separate number I'll try tomorrow.

I also follow the Space X Starship progress on youtube, their latest revision (SN8) features a Tesla battery pack! You can see it here at the top of the bulkhead:

Re: Tesla Battery Day - New 4680 Cell
Yeah thats how i understood it, was that it was bonded together, on top of this it seems like they will be gold dust to even Tesla themselves until about 2030, so buying them directly does not seem plausible either

Tesla Battery Day - New 4680 Cell
Anyone else watch the conference? New battery tech looks really cool, tabless cell, wonder when these will filter down to DIY'ers
They also noted the newer battery packs will be bonded together and part of the chassis....

What would the price be for ~20kwh of packs? I'd be interested in joining this and maybe for more.

Re: E46 Touring with GS450H Gearbox Motor
How much kWh are you going to use in the E46? How much mileage do you expect to get from it. I'm hunting like crazy for some nicely priced packs.

Re: GS450H Discussion
Ah, I thought what I linked to were engine oil pumps for the S85? You are absolutely right - my apologies, its one of the two scavenge pumps for the partial dry sump, at a glance it looked similar to SMG Motor. I will ask my friend who is breaking his S85 if he has a one for mates rates :D EDIT: Af...

Re: GS450H Discussion
The viscosity of the fluids doesn't seem to be massively different from what I can tell.
My only consideration is the SMG Pump does not run continuously on the S85 V10, the SMG only uses pressure to actuate the clutch and shift gears

One thing i did notice when browsing the shop was that the price quoted in some of the descriptions was lower than the actual list price of the item.
