Re: [WIP] Midas Gold Mk3 Coupe - mitsubishi outlander project
This looks like a great setup if it can be communicated with, there seems to be quite a few folks using the bmw sp41 packs at the moment but this pack is nearly double capacity, the modules appear to be the same dimensions but with totally different cabling.

Re: (WIP)Classic Mini, outlander rdu
Thanks for the pointers. I will take a look at the BMW sp41 packs. My midas is a mk3 coupe so has a metro a series subframe in it, which I am hoping is just a touch bigger than the mini one.
I would think it will be, there will definitely be more room up front and maybe a little more height, i ...

Re: [WIP] Midas Gold Mk3 Coupe - mitsubishi outlander project
im thinking bmw sp41 for battery pack
I looked at this as a relatively cheap and easy option as it pairs up nicely with the zombie and was used in petes opto mini successfully. I don’t doubt there will be better options but as a proven concept i’m happy for now. Gregski runs them in that big ...

Re: Classic Mini, outlander rdu
Hello, Im looking at doing something similar with the mounting of the drive unit Pedro, albeit on a metro subframe, I can see you used some kind of box section at the front inside of the front crossmember. I am guessing thats what you used those silver nuts for to clamp it to the front. How did ...

Re: (WIP)Classic Mini, outlander rdu
Bmw hybrid batteries (6mods) are a tight fit in front of mini, not sure how they’ll fit in the midas, I think pete’s opto mini ran on five, gregski has some great youtube videos using the zombie with the bmw battery pack, you can pick the battery pack up quite cheaply, try to get the sp41 12kw. The ...

Its really frustrating, the other day it was going Pot values-whiteout-redbanner-potvalues

Re: Classic Mini, outlander rdu
Hi tom, thanks for the quick response, would potpressed stop run mode without pedal connected, I’ve tried numerous ways with test setup and with actual ignition, followed gregskis videos,
It’s as if potpressed is bricking everything.
Or I’m not getting communication with the zombie

Re: Classic Mini, outlander rdu
Cheers tom, I’m probably thinking a bit too far into the future, I’m thinking it would be nice to be able to charge it on journeys without having to park up for hours on end, I guess I could add another pack in the boot and see how i end up range wise, the caveat being it would double my charge time

Re: Classic Mini, outlander rdu
Its extremely tight tom, there is room for the inverter to motor cables to pass between the battery boxes to the under side of the temporary checkerplate. The hv can pass around the back and go either side of the inverter. The charger will probably have to go in the boot or maybe under the front ...

Re: Classic Mini, outlander rdu
To be honest, my ev knowledge is pretty limited, The mechanical aspect is where i’m more comfortable, my thoughts on the motor are:
A, the motor has been run in reverse on several other builds with no reported issues.
B, i seem to recall a thread on here where someone had taken the gearbox to bits ...

I’ll probably get some made up once we’re up and running, got it lovely and straight but the bmx has probably thrown it well out of balance, it would probably shake the diff to bits

Spent a few hours making prototype motor mounts, once driveshafts are sorted I will make some nice shiny ones, just rear mount to finish the motor is in, I’m only using existing subframe holes.
