Re: Subaru Legacy AWD 2008, Leaf motor
The hooks are for tie downs to a flatbed or a trailer. Tow truck drivers usually use things like control arms or stick T hooks into frame holes which distorts the frame and adds a spot for rust to start. Sometimes they use halfshafts, swaybars, etc. Its nice that the engineers thought about adding ...

Re: Subaru Legacy AWD 2008, Leaf motor
I think those hooks are towing arrangement because your car has alu suspension and if towing truck would hook subaru by the suspension arms it could damage them. So the hooks... if you would cut or change them you need to leave at least one of them usable or weld/bolt another towing arrangement to ...

Re: Subaru Legacy AWD 2008, Leaf motor
if I may suggest... you can make a front cross brace as I did in Mazda and Megane and then suspend third motor mount from the top. Usually that mount simply supports the motor weight and doesn't interact with torque... so using 6mm metal screws is enough.
edit: Or if you want to be absolutely ...

Re: Newb Asks: Is There No Current Shunt In The Leaf Contactor Box?
I have an Hall effect sensor from 2016 Nissan Leaf 30kWh battery. It was connected directly to Service disconnect socket. Difference between the older one from the first Gregskis picture here is that older hall sensor has only 3 pins. 30kWh battery one has 4 pins.

Re: VW Golf GTE Contactor Box
I tested the battery and contactor control module (E-box) 5WA915183B on the table and it works strangely. If I turn the lab supply on then it does something a few seconds consumes about 400mA and then switches itself off and doesn't turn on anymore. When its not powered some time (maybe a day) then ...

Is it possible with openinverter software use this Leaf hall effect sensor as main current measuring device instead of Isabellenütten?

are integrated into one control unit under the contactor box so called ebox

Re: VW Golf GTE Contactor Box
No, this is from the internal battery can, it'll not work on the external can.
Thank you for clarifying that! Why doesn't it work on external CAN? What to do, to get it working?
Why doesn't the Zombieverter control thru external CAN communications?
Right now I am thinking of opening the pack ...

Re: VW Golf GTE Contactor Box
I tried the code for controlling the contactors from CAN lines outside the pack, but nothing happened. Does it even work like that? Do I have to get inside of the pack on internal CAN to make it work?
I think there might be that Škoda Octavia IV has other CAN commands.

Re: VW Golf GTE battery
Yes, but that is just the contactor box which is on an internal CAN bus. Just like the battery modules also on an internal CAN bus.
The Battery controller/BMS master is connected to those two CAN busses and then connected to external connector the rest of the car.
Thank you! If Zombie VCU ...

Today I did a small motor, coupler, and gearbox test. Tried first second and reverse gear. Used 800W ebike controller and two hoverboard batteries in parallel, amazing what those cheap things can do sensorless.

Re: [wip] DIY electric buggy for school students, Renault PHEV drive, Auris openinverter board
Buggy drives ok now. I am beginning to understand some of the openinverter parameters. We have to improve some motor mounts a little and maybe try gearbox oil pump also, at the moment it's not connected. Also I haven't connected the charging automation Auris board has some outputs but I haven't ...

Re: Subaru Legacy AWD 2008, Leaf motor
I ordered VW 13kWh hybrid battery pack because it has water cooling and it should fit without modification into the trunk of my car.
According to this forum, VW battery measurements should be 950 X 600 X 200mm and the Subaru trunk width is 1100mm and lenght 960mm.
