i3 i8 control board chip info
Long story short, I tried replacing my EME with a used part. I had someone reset it and clear the ISN but there is an immobilizer chip that prevents the car from shifting out of park. The code is 222C02 which states there is an adjustment failure between the DME and EME. My original control board ...

Re: BMW I8 project
If door is open, and car detect “tilt”, it automatically disengage any gear and forcefully be put in parking.
Make sure door light is not on before putting in gear.
Also when I messed BimmerCode in certain parameters, it started to give me “drive error” codes. I couldn’t move a car at all ...

Re: BMW I8 project
The I8 will start and charge but not shift out of park. Common problem with the i3’s with used EME’s. Most fix it by swapping the main board but mine was damaged beyond repair. The EME was reset but still getting the EWS code 222CO2. “Electronic immobilizer expected response implausible.”

Re: BMW I8 project
The latest is, I was told that the HV system isnt locked. The new EME has to be reset in order to be coded to the vehicle. Thats proving to be quite the challenge. I have someone working on it. Im paying him. He's reset (virginized) an EME before so well see...

Re: BMW I8 project
So basically, what I'm being told is that the reason my car wont start or charge, is after the car has been in a crash the battery contacts open to disconnect the high voltage battery for safety. I need the EOS test to check the integrity of the battery to make sure when its reactivated it wont blow ...

Re: BMW I8 project
If your car is starting and driving, you don't need a pyro fuse. The seatbelt is 2 stage and mine cost me about 80 to rebuild.

Re: BMW I8 project
Is that something that can be reset by opening up the battery or is this strictly a software issue, like something ISTA or Tool32 can do?

Re: BMW I8 project
Ok, it was a fuse… The LIM seems to be communicating. Took me forever to find. The fuse block on the i8 is in a ridiculously awkward spot. Still won’t charge though. I’ll keep at it.

BMW I8 project
Hi, I have a 2016 I8 that I’m doing a front end collision repair on. The car is mostly put back together with both mechanical and structural parts but I can’t get it to charge. There is a message on the dash that says “unable to charge.” When I run diagnostics on ISTA there is no communication with ...
