Re: OI Takes on Drag Week 2025!
I'm very close to Reading PA and I wish I had the ability to take the day off! be warned, charging in that part of PA is a little rough so definitely try and plan a route via plugshare or similar. are you on Chademo or CCS?

Re: [WIP] MX-5 NB Tesla SDU
I'm doing an NA with a model 3 motor and more or less came to similar conclusions. Are you in a country that allows for modification of the body? you will very likely need a mount at the back end of the battery box that bolts through or is welded to the chassis. best of luck with the build! I really ...

Re: Tesla Model 3 Rear Drive Unit Hacking
Now you can continue with 30 pin connector in purple colour, this is bit painful part:
1. leads and whole surrounding area is covered by solder mask, i used Dremel with small tip to clean as much as i could.
2. Even when i tried a lot i was not able to wick solder from joins and free connector.

Re: Drag Week 2024
I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on chademo availability in that part of the country at the end of the trip. Drag week seems like it's a real gauntlet and I think fast charging availability broadly is a big hangup for a lot of people in the US with or without the added difficulties of a ...

Re: Mazda MX-3 electric
Sorry i missed the question. I since removed the charger because of complexity of second liquid cooling loop. It was also a pain to deair.
Yes i noticed the upper module ran a little bit warmer than other two. It didnt mean a thing for performance at the time i used it.
I would imagine this could ...

thank you, yes I have one of these currently and will likely move forward with using it, but i was hoping to have a slightly cleaner solution with CAN/LIN/PWM control. it mostly fits with some clearancing (in case anyone else with an mx5 comes across this thread and doesn't want to use a coolant ...

I guess after 2 years of starting the project, I should probably start documenting it as a way to bully myself into finishing the final bits.

Re: Mazda MX-3 electric
I see you have your gen2 charger mounted vertically more or less. have you found any issues with it being in non-standard orientation? I have seen some recommendations that it be mounted flat and level, but was curious if that's more of a "that's how tesla installed it" versus "this is what it needs ...

The 7.2kw charger from the jeep plug in hybrids looks like it could be an interesting option too, though it hasn't been cracked yet AFAIK. Its long and narrow and has built-in dcdc.

I3 KLE 12v connector part numbers
after some substantial effort I was able to locate the 12v connectors for the i3 KLE with fast charging. I plan on utilizing this as a HV junction box for my build, so I will be documenting as much as I am able to this and then to the wiki once everything is complete.

is it possible to add a link to this to the wiki main page? currently I can only find it here in this thread (unless I am blind, which is very possible)

hopefully this helps add visibility to the effort as well as smoother ease of access

thanks gregski! This feels like something that should be documented in the wiki, but where would a good spot be?
update: I added it to the hardware section immediately after the prewired connector w/ leads line item
unfortunately formatting is terrible because I don't really know what I'm doing

thank you all! I do have a gear selector from a polestar 2, as well as its harness, but I'd need to figure out its CAN messages as well as its pinouts and I haven't had luck with that.

Direction rocker switch (F-N-R) for Zombieverter wiring?
