 nope it's current production from what I have seen , there is a new proposed design with in house bidirectional design using sic components. But don't think they are in the wild. Every opened unit I have seen is like this.

Re: WANTED-Smart 451 ED3 Electric Drive parts

Thanks for your input on this. Yes,I take your point that the system is a bit of a challenge but it works well when it is ok. I've been working with it for ~ 18 months on and off. It seems to be well understood in Germany and elsewhere in the EU but it is expensive for some parts and Powertrain/BMS...

I would forget about to the smart as hard to get and seemingly a night mare of a system. I would just buy a Zoe as they are more available and better understood

Re: Zombieverter or Lexus GS450h VCU that is the question.

I'm happy to test in the e65 superyacht but neither myself.of Damien have noticed either if those issues, I would assume it relates to a bad shunt value being supplied by the ivt shunt or interference or a battery setpoint that is being adhered to. If you have any specific things you want me to test...

Re: Subaru Legacy + Tesla SDU Conversion

I started doing the same with a gen 4 bp5 ,the subframe needs good bit of cutting for my leaf motor, have tried both early and later model leaf motor. But also be aware of the height of the motor as I found ground clearance was an issue along with width between both side.

Also bringing torque to 0 means adding 0 torque and freewheeling so a bit surprised that it broke something , sounds like a different issue.

Im happy to test in the land yacht with zombie to confirm if there is an issue I haven't seen yet. Can you outline what the issue you are having specifically is and what you think causes it and I will test that scenario and get back to you.

No but there is no point massively constraining the cars limit for the sake of a small amount of money. I would doubt anyone would argue if you increased limit to 1500 or 2000 but vastly improved the car.

Re: 18ish kWh Home energy storage system with 3.8kwp of solar

Recently been trying the solar assistant pi image , it is great as it allows you to create mqqt server to control units using home assistant. This is great for load shifting when you have time of use tariffs. Next thing is to try integrate some predictive charging instead of fixed time / voltage set...

Re: 18ish kWh Home energy storage system with 3.8kwp of solar

Quick update , had a go at integrating the inverter control into my home assistant. Turns out my inverter uses different come protocol. So just to save time I bought a solar assistant licence as interim solution. Next steps are to fix the issue with the firmware that is causing issue when units are ...

Re: Zombieverter & GS450H Communication Issues Investigation

I would have generally worked around the idea of keeping zombie 12v always powered , with caveat of using a low voltage cutoff that you manually reset to prevent it draining if car is only used every so often or very little. You could get creative and maybe try enable hv on mode for charging and bri...

Make sure to have expansion sensor for those kona lg chems , some of them had a habit of swelling and catching on fire hence the recall on some of them. Think it was a cell tab folding issue.

Nice one arber , I have mine working besides two things , the inverters won't work in parrallel properly as one has newer firmware and it seems to be impossible to get a copy. Also need a raspberry pi to provide mqqt suport for home assistant integration so I can run clever automations and monitor r...
