For those interested current V2 board schematic. Not finalised yet but has corrections from V1 and now all component values and types populated. Basically the current board minus the bodges:)

Anyway, before running any real power through the inverter I decided to scope the gate-source waveforms just in case. High sides looked fie but all THREE lowsides showed this sort of a ...

Sadly not. Now with SD set properly as soon as pwm hits they drivers they go into fault.

Thanks Dave will give a shot tomorrow. Yeah I recall the gaps in the spi when under pwm from when I ran the modboard. Didnt seem to cause any problems.

Capture with pwm on.

Okay. 5 sec delay between power on and starting spi coms. No errors.
PWM reaches the drivers but is not passed through.
also set the analyser to CPHA=1.

SPI clock at divide by 32. Roughly 2MHz now. Same behaviour.

Well, good news is red light stays out and pwm reaches the drivers but they are not happy. Guess I'll have to go in and see whats annoying them. In related news the variant detection is really messed up and needs to be forced to M3 but thats a small matter.

Yeah my initial modboard just ran them in default config as didnt have the spi worked out at that point. Sadly the good luck streak has finally ended. All the drivers fault as soon as pwm is applied. No doubt some error in the HW reverse engineering. I'll get spi coms running to try and narrow it ...

Sorry Dave I should have said the gate psu is on and I just strobbed SD.

All gate drivers powered up, reset and waiting for spi configuration to be loaded.

Thanks. Slightly off topic but I was watching one of his videos a week or so ago and it had this weird ai English dubbing. I ended up turning it off and just listening to the German as I could make out a few words and follow the pictures. I'd hate to think what it would make of my ramblings:)

Sadly missed one locating peg for the current sensor block. No big deal. I can just snip it on this one.

So far so good. Boards power up , 5v and 3v3 work and I can talk to the STM32.
