Re: Leaving the forum
Damien, I'm sad to see you go. Your input and knowledge has helped numerous people through the years including myself. I deeply wish I had more electrical engineering knowledge to have helped you in your projects, for this I am sorry. I also I want you to know that I have tried and used your boards ...

LDU parameters showing reverse when in forward
Trying to make sense of what's happening here. When motor going forward it shows reverse on parameters page on laptop. When in reverse it shows forward. Even trying to use the button swapped setting on perimeters page it shows the same thing. Should I just ignore it or is there a reason or a fix? I ...

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread
So here's maybe a new question since I couldn't find the answer to or my search and speed reading skills are pretty terrible. I have a Tesla sport motor setup that can pull well over 1000 amps but my battery pack is rated at 900amps max. What settings in the parameters can I use to limit what the in...

Re: MachE parts already on the market!
The only people I know at the moment with Eluminator motor info is AEM. They actually used a Tesla subframe and installed an Eluminator motor in it and put it in another S197 Mustang like I built and they bought from me. They used a lot of my ideas in the Eluminator Mustang build which I like as it ...

Thank you Damien.Jack Bauer wrote: ↑Sun Aug 14, 2022 3:07 pm Yes it would work no problem. Just use the throttle calibration procedure on the web interface.

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread
I've never seen that setup either and I've dealt with a lot of LDU setups. I agree it could be a very early unit.

Re: Mercedes-Benz B Electric - motor support
Hi, I hook my motors up exactly like the diagrams posted for the LDU motor on this forum. You do have to have 12 volts and a drive pack around 50 to 100 volts. You also have to set your parameters correctly for the lower drive pack voltage. You just need to read all the LDU setup things that Damien ...

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread
Hi guys, Any know if a model 3 throttle would work with the LDU Damien board. I'm thinking of swapping my Model 3 drive setup for a LDU and would like to keep the Model 3 pedal if I can. I've run the Damien board in the past with the Model s pedal just wondering if they are the same hall effect setup.

Re: I bought a Chevy Volt Gen1 DC-DC Converter - Now What?
Hi Guys, Been a bit since I've been here. I've been using the Chevy volt Gen 1 DC-DC converter on 3 of my builds. I use a Teensey and 1 line of code to run them. Very simple. Here's the code. I believe I set it to 14.0 volts. I'm on vacation so I can't verify at the moment. The charger is hooked up ...

Re: Battery opinions while I have the car apart?
Hi Jon, Been awhile. I would suggest looking at the OX battery from Electric GT in California. I've been running them now in my M3 powered Musktang for the last few months with great results. 16 modules, 42 KWh and about 450 lbs. They are small and can be configured. Excellent C rating. Not cheap bu...

Re: Olimex MOD-WIFI-ESP8266 alternatives
To upgrade to the commercial firmware in my Gen 2 charger V5 I ended up using a Wemos D1. Tried to program the stock 8266 with no luck. The D1 took the first time. I've uploaded a couple pics to show how I installed it as it has a bigger footprint. I used 2, 5 wide connectors and plugged them into t...

Re: Tesla Charger alternative firmware
I give that a shot. You don't have to reflash the board after the 5 minute timer, correct? It should just charge for 5 minutes every time you plug it in before you put in the Pin, correct?

Re: Tesla Charger alternative firmware
Good morning. So this morning I plug in the charger to install the PIN and no parameters show up to be able to put the pin in. It's charging with yesterdays 5 minute parameters but they don't show up this morning on the web interface. The web interface is there.Any thoughts before I go through the w...

Re: Tesla Charger alternative firmware
Assuming the charger is programmed more or less like a standard inverter: -Flash ESP8266 with whatever it needs (spiffs, html files, etc.). Sounds like you've got this done. -Flash STM32 on the charger board using ST-Link. First stm32_loader, then stm32_charger (latter can be done using ESP8266?). ...

Johu, OK, alls good. I had no idea about flashing the board itself. Works perfect. So I will send you the serial number of the firmware now. Please cancel my other order if you can and use this for the charge key and keep the change. Well it seems that I had to get charged again. Keep the highest of...

Re: Tesla Charger alternative firmware
I am using the usb->UART setup. It did flash when I installed the firmware using Arduino. Tried the Wemos D1 and everything loaded f...

Re: Tesla Charger alternative firmware
Just the 2 hex files. stm32_loader.hex and stm32_charger.hex Well after to trying to load this now for 3 days I've decided to buy the preloaded Mod 8266 board from you, hopefully I can just plug it in and get the serial number and buy the key from you. I can not believe I can't figure this out. I'v...

Re: Tesla Charger alternative firmware
Hi Guys, So I uploaded all the goodies onto the 8266 and it seems maybe I made a mistake or did not load something correctly. I do get the new updated window and the correct ip address but I'm missing the parameters/settings tabs and the serial number is not there either. Do I need to hit the ESP826...

So now I am really anxious to hear from Damien what the difference is and will it hurt anything in single mode. I've been driving in single mode for weeks without knowing it so whether it is hurting anything is beyond me. Just found this year old question when going over the thread, may be too late...

I guess I was basing it on no raise in voltage. I thought the voltage would go up as it starting charging. Thank you guys.

Re: Tesla Charger alternative firmware
Hi again, Sorry for being a pain. I wish I was a double EE but I'm not. So I closed the 120 ohm jumper pad. Now I do get a click then a few seconds later another click. Still no charging. All 3 modules leds light up. I've tried switch on first then plug in the charger plug. I'v tried charger plug fi...
