Re: Update via wifi fails

I'm getting many reports about failed updates lately. Really bugs me, especially if people have to take apart their drive train. I plan to change the esp firmware so that a) the update runs autonumously, i.e. not controlled by the browser b) delete the file after update So seeing a lot of great ide...

Re: BMW e39 + Siemens motor + Prius Gen3 OI - Yanoibe39 conversion

10KOhm is orders of magnitude too big. Precharge time is function of how fast you fill your device's capacitors - a high value resistor will slow this current to a trickle at the expense of time. OEM use something in the ballpark of 25 Ohms (yes, 1/400th of your current value). A 33 Ohm 100W unit is...

Re: Chademo Controller Development

Doh, I'll update that, I've not actually got round to ordering v2 boards yet :D. A can log would be good and also if you do DBG=3 before starting it'll spew out more info too. Oh, if you're doing a minor rev on the board, I wanted to mention that the EasyEDA DRC checker complains about the last two...

Re: Compiling Information For Wiki - Please Contribute

I've been contributing to the OI wiki as I'm able for a few months now. TBH, many of my contribs are attributing posts from either here or DIYEC, but that's OK, because I believe that's how a Wiki should be - succinct article with sources for reference. Coming back to crasbe's request for the "...

Re: Tesla SDU main contactor not closing

My board v5 with commercial firmware have to reset button to start led to Blink wifi working after reset but if power off must reset again. Any one can have any input on this matter. Re: The ZombieVerter VCU Project

Here are some connectors and Toyota part number for connecting to the Prius/Yaris gen 3 inverter. Still need to find the tails for the small signal wires and the resolver plug. For the resolver plug PN on my Prius C(similar to the Yaris?), I come up with G9266-47010. It is an easy push and snap int...

Re: The ZombieVerter VCU Project

If the whole connector is Sumitono, the only crimp that seems close to the right pitch for the signal wires is the type 1.0II or 1.0III, which are 1.8mm wide... Hold on... Sumitomo? I thought Johannes had established a while back that the mating piece to this housing (i.e. the infamous unobtainium ...

Update: wrote earlier that the non 3-channel version might be an option but it is not so 3-channel it is (thanks Damien for your input). Lars, can you provide a bit more info on this? Given the dearth of availability on these precious little units, my shop was also wanting to get in on the reseller...

Damien, if the parameters file you posted back in June has been serving you well, I'd like to post it to the newly-christened OI parameters database - with your blessing, of course :)

Doesn't need to be a "good" one. A perfectly serviceable one (i.e. 0-30V 0-10A) can be found online for under $100.

Dima, I'd like to have a go at running your latest variant of the web interface, but the mklittlefs tool your PS script calls is no longer available, so I'm unable to compile my own .bin for the file system - any chance you have one ready to share?

Re: Tesla Small Drive Unit Support Thread

In before the thread gets shut down ;) Does anyone have an actual quantity for how much gearbox oil should be added to the front SDU? I found numbers for the LDU within 5 minutes on Google, but so such luck for the small motors! EDIT: found the fluid types for the front SDU on TMC, but no mention of...

Re: Tesla Small Drive Unit Support Thread

Thanks Damien, believe me I have watched this video and know I can just swap the parts over, but figured since the parts number for the Melexis current sensors as well as the 2 pin JST connectors are now known, I'd rather populate the SDU board without savaging the OE board :) EDIT: found the CONN3/...

Just a little note to let people know we have finally been able to source the 2 pin JST connector for the HV interlock and coolant temp sensor so all future opensource boards will be supplied with these connectors fitted. Re: Tesla Small Drive Unit Support Thread

Well how do you like that, not too often you get to answer your own question, but I got it sorted. Figured I'd share here just for posterity: my mistake was trying to pull the plastic shroud UP and push the phase cables DOWN through it. Turns out the opposite is what's needed: start by bending the p...

Just figured I'd drop a quick introduction here to get my post count up. I'm working with a team in Alberta, Canada to fit a Tesla Model X front SDU into a Factory Five Type 65 kit car. Re: Tesla Small Drive Unit Support Thread

I have something of a procedural question: in Damien's "SDU howto" video from Jan 2018, the SDU board with current sensors and metal shield have been removed as a single unit. I'm trying to tear down my 2017 Model X front SDU to the same stage to simplify the R&R of the current sensor ...

Re: Universal WiFi Interface

Taking things further (and NOT to minimise the great work being done here), I submit that a proper "universal" solution doesn't involve rolling our own from scratch. The MegaSquirt crowd is far ahead of the OpenInverter project both in terms of development as well as experience with digita...
