I find johu's test branch and its results very interesting.
If I'm reading this right, it basically fixes transitions between forwards and backwards torque in the FW region, when previously it would lose track of FW and basically go out of control?
And all it needs to succeed in that is limiting ...

Re: QCA7000 Foccci+Clara User thread
Those connectors are definitely Molex Mini-Fit (or one of the Chinese clones).
I have some, and an old spare Foccci. Here are some photos
EDIT: Part number is 35318-1220. And the female wire side header is 39-01-2120, and you need contacts also of course (I don't have those listed on my notes ...

Re: Develop a QCA7000 board?
JLCPCB always runs the designs through an actual person who will rotate components to match the board. The most important thing is clear board markings. Anything else is just nice to have.

Re: Foccci integration with OBCs
It seems to me a 0/12V CP PWM mirror from foccci at one of the contactor outputs would satisfy a lot of the people who aren't using Zombieverter or some other VCU with CP PWM output capability.

Is it still possible that KEEP_POWER_ON drops out when it shouldn't? In Code it looks like as long as CP is valid it should stay on
It does look to me like CP is at 5% always when the charging process is at checkpoint 710 (=CurrentDemand). This is the Previa's logs (Omega's logs show a similar ...

Okay now, before I'll have time to actually look at the hardware (the issue might very well be exactly what uhi22 described, because I have issues with wakeup also - I've so far never gotten the board to sleep), here's another question/request:

One issue I'm having is I don't have the schematic file for the 4.5 board. The repo is seemingly blank between 4.2 and 5.0.
Maybe johu's wakeup branch is close?

I don't know how to put this to not sound quite wild, but... I'm pretty sure the Kempower charger I mostly test my car at doesn't connect PP, either at all or at least not during the actual charging session.
Due to this, the current PlugPresent value is useless as it stays at 0.

Is it possible to set up foccci to set a single bit on CAN as 1 if a connector is plugged in, and to 0 if not? Regardless of which type of connector, and regardless of what is going on.
The bit would disable the inverter in my car, as per regulations and common sense.

My home EVSE is Tesla Wallbox gen 2. Does anyone know is there something tricky with these, does it try to communicate using 5% CP?
I'm guessing it tries to communicate using 5% CP with Tesla's proprietary protocol first, and if the car accepts that, it stays in it. If the car doesn't accept it ...

Re: Partial pack Dc/Dc converter?
FYI 13.5v is undercharging your lead acid, and you will perhaps eventaully run into issues with sulphation. Ideally you want it around 14.1v as a flat value, and certainly not below 13.8. OEM designs will push up towards 15v for a short time, especially on AGM batteries, then will drop back to ...

The Previa, now with Foccci. The pyPLC hardware has been ditched and the connector moved. I've been charging at 180A and under, which is about 50kW. I'll increase that a bit when being at the optimal temperature range (25...45°C), once I have some time.

Re: Tesla Cybertruck decoding
I think the cybertruck has ethernet available at the OBD2 port, so at least for regular diagnostics you want an OBD2-ethernet adapter. Whether that allows you to do any reverse engineering, I don't know.

I would love to have the ability to map big endian values, as I generally use that. Foccci/clara is currently forcing me to bodge extra little-endian or 8-bit values to messages in my cars to make things work.

I think uhi22 meant a diode in series. No? To only allow current to flow out from the EN pin.

Re: [WIP] Audi A2 conversion
You definitely do not want to use "5 or 6 Tesla modules". You will end up with a very low voltage which will prevent you from getting any performance out of your motor, and will make it harder to find a quality on-board charger and DC-DC converter, and will make it impossible to DC fast charge.

Earlier you said you gave up on LIM charging. Is that a thing that doesn't work anymore? I thought that was still the meta for fast charging.

I've been documenting Previa stuff as Youtube videos lately. I try to make about 15 minute videos where I cram about 1-2 days of work, so the boringness level should be well under control. I'll post more as I progress, so subscribe there if you'd like to see them.

The Omega. 250A (70-80kW) is the most I dare to try with the 13 old 2015 Tesla Model S modules. Only once they've warmed up but not too warm.

I've been testing the GS450H low gear on the Omega yesterday and today. Also did a quick and dirty auto shift implementation in the VCU code.

Re: Type 2 to CHAdeMO Converter/Charger?
In my mind as an EV converter, it doesn't make a huge difference whether you make a separate unit or whether you permanently install. The separate unit might be way easier to integrate given you can't modify the car's firmware and probably don't have BMS info and wakeup/shutdown commands or lines ...
