Re: Leaf gear box nismo LSD

the intermediate gear to ring gear is 4.35. theres only enough room to fit a 1:1 from the input shaft to intermediate gear No hope of changing the final ratio? 71:20 should be same centerline distance as 74:17, no? Or is there absolutely no chance of shrinking the final gear? I realize there would ...

Re: Open Inverter with Hyper 9

What I figured is, it's rated for 1000 RPM at 48v, if I need it to rotate ~5000 RPM, I just give it more voltage, tell the controller higher frequency, and it'll go. There was moderate skepticism that it would handle 200-400v typical of an EV, but Major figured it would easily handle 10-12,000 RPM,...

Oh, to be that young again. And also a robot.

This is FAR more common than you would hope. Ironically, the more big and expensive the stuff, the less you have to bother with things like miniaturization and cost savings.

Re: Internal dimensions of things in Prius transaxles

The reason i suggest is because I think it's simpler. Replacing OEM shafts with hollow parts wouldn't make things reachable I guessed. Adding billet material / bearings and welding a cover on it. Is reachable. Oil would be inside etc. But there are more ways to reach a goal. The point is that the O...

Re: Internal dimensions of things in Prius transaxles

I can imagine that there is a way to add an extra exit on the caseing. In a way you add bearings/alloy material and then exit the caseing... (Motor bike sprockets and chain?). From there you might be able to spin / drive the outer axle. Not a fan of sprockets and chains, but trying to keep an open ...

Internal dimensions of things in Prius transaxles

Hi I have a very weird idea in mind, so I was hoping to find some dimensions of various parts of the PSD and the motor speed reducer, as well as the input shaft from the engine, sun gear etc. Has anyone made any drawings which show some of these internal dimensions? Reluctant to go out and buy a P41...
