WIP - Fiat 500R -73 + Tesla SDU
Hi! Luigi was first converted back in 2012 using a Agni 95R + Kelly. I decided to upgrade and went for the Tesla SDU. The hardest part so far was CAD-ing up the motormount. More info on intagram.com/wildtech.eu Today i did the first test using 100V, Two 12S MEB-modules. Feels good. https://www.youtu...

Snap-ring tesla front sdu
Hi!
I got a SDU, 1035000-00-J, and I'm trying to find snap-rings for the driveshaft. Its the small ring/clip that keeps the driveshaft in the diff.
Any one got a source for these?
Thanks
Rikard

Re: Master CAN module for Hankzor balancers
It literally is in the github link. Ok, so loading the evsbms with SimpJK.ino.TEENSY32.hex would do it? When using more than 24s I guess that the jk-balancers needs to be connected like this in order for all cells to be balanced evenly? https://www.jkbms.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/figure7.jpg

Re: Master CAN module for Hankzor balancers
First draft created. https://github.com/Tom-evnut/SimpBMS-JK It reads the info and can command balancing. Balancing is done here, they need to be set once so using a simple integer to do this. if (balancecells == 1) { if (SetBal == 2 || SetBal == 0) { bms.balanceCells(1, 0); //1 is debug SetBal = 1...

Re: SDU parameter tuning - major failure - can't select drive gear
unidirectional is fine. Spikes in reverse direction, if even possible, would be absorbed by the diodes contained in the phases. Remember, stick your multimeter on there the wrong way round it will measure like 0.5V forward voltage. Ok, I’m placing my tvs+resistor on the dc side. If possible, would ...

Re: SDU parameter tuning - major failure - can't select drive gear
Hi Rikard. If you are thinking of adding TVS I would use bidirectional as spikes could happen with drive and regen possibly so current flow is in either direction. Jump in anyone if you have thoughts please. Thanks! I will try to guesstimate the amount of energy that needs to be absorbed. I’ll keep...

Re: SDU parameter tuning - major failure - can't select drive gear
Hi Rikard. Stick with Tripmode 1, is still the best idea without doubt. I will, I just wanted an extra safety feature. I like the tvs approach. I’ll be running approx 250V on the dc side. There are 300V unidir tvs that can handle up to 30kW for a very short period and combining them with a high eff...

Re: SDU parameter tuning - major failure - can't select drive gear
Tripmode 1 is the best idea as Catphish suggests. As an added path to clamp spikes I use suitably voltage rated paralleled TVS in series with a high wattage 25R resistor across the inverter HV input cables as close to the inverter as possible. Hi Peter, Regarding the TVS approach. could you give so...

SDU tilt/orientation
Hey! After looking at the weber university run down of the front SDU, avaliable here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVVT3FD30eY, I learned that in order to gain max cooling of the motor the tilt must be right. Looks like the heat exchanger is supposed to be upright/flat when mounted correctly. I n...

SDU cooling options
Hi! Whats your solution for cooling the SDU? 1. Feed the inverter and motor (heat exchanger) in parallell, if so what flow and size of radiator. 2. Serial cooling, first inverter, second motor. 3. Two seperate loops for motor and inverter. Whats your experience and recommendation? BR Rikard

Gain for uaux [SOLVED]
Hi! just got my sdu up and running for test. Using a 12v battery for logic and 24v dc for “hv”. Looking at the gains and I see uaux is 16,48 in the spot values. The multimeter reads 11,45. How do I set the gain for uaux? I managed to “unhide” udcgain and set the correctly but I can’t find the gain f...

Field weakening
Hi! I’ve started to play around with the new features regarding field weakening. I got a 24s, 88v, battery connected to the inverter. Precharge and closing of main contactor works like a charm. I upgraded sw to 5.24.R-foc and applied the config found in the database for em57. I can control start, fw...

Re: Unable to close precharge and main contactor
Thanks,
Yes it’s a new card but I tested it with the old, and possible broken contactor.
If I manually engage the contactor after pressing start, it all works so it looks to be isolated to the mosfet.
I have some spares

Re: Unable to close precharge and main contactor
Hey! Got some progress on this issue. I am now able to close the precharge relay and get udc=battery voltage. When I press start there is a slight delay before the precharge relay is opened again. The issue now is that the main contactor wont close. Tried a new contactor but that did not help. As I ...

Re: Unable to close precharge and main contactor
Thank you,
Will do. We think that thunder/lightning caused a fault in the inverter. The BMS was affected as well.
