Re: Foccci wakeup/sleep discussions

We can only combine Foccci with a charger that doesn't have its own CP and/or PP handling. We could make the 2k7 pull down and 5V pull-up switchable as well to free up the signals for chargers that do handle CP/PP The above is my use case: adding DCFC to an OEM EV which has none, but its OBC expect...

I don't have a LIM anymore, but . . . is it possible to disable the LIM's termination? Desolder a resistor on the PCB?

Re: Develop a QCA7000 board?

I made an interesting observation in my Ioniq: They use a shielded CP line from the engine compartment (where the OBC sits), to the cabin (where the PLC modem sits under the driver seat) to the charge port above the rear left wheel. On my 2014 RAV4 EV, I'm reasonably certain that my CP line is unsh...

Re: Develop a QCA7000 board?

I assumed there will be a momentary-contact switch near the charge inlet, to do user-input things such as: * discontinue charging * turn on the charge port light (to aid in guiding the nozzle to the port) * or whatever . . . That user-input button is, in my mind, one of several wake-up triggers for ...

Re: ESP32 Based Web Interface & Data Logger

No. 7 (counterfeit/non-working CAN transceivers) has bit a lot of people I know. When you're lucky, they work not-at-all: easy to locate, curse at, replace.

Unlucky ones fail intermittently :(

Re: Develop a QCA7000 board?

Well most charging parks have cameras nowadays. That is not the situation at almost all public charge stations I've visited (Pacific Northwest, USA). . . . those with old software do change their MAC Adresss at night though hence why they are not in the AutoCharge Programm ...). Re: Develop a QCA7000 board?

I haven't looked into it, but you may need a valid Vendor OID for the first part of the MAC address. I know next to nothing about OIDs; I frequently use the OID Lookup feature of dd-wrt to find "rogue" IPs on my home LAN, from IoT devices that have snuck inside the house, such as my Blue A...

I've left the wire disconnected, and I've actually driven several errands since, over 100mi., and no errors, no problem charging, nothing.

I have no idea of this wire's purpose.

Re: Fast Charge Mercedes-Benz bclass electric (B250e)

I've started a Wiki page about the Tesla GEN1 OBC, which is the unit our RAV4 EV and MB B250e vehicles use. Of note, I've identified the "drive inhibit" pin on the OBC. Yeah . . . no. With that line disconnected, I can both charge OK (and cannot drive away) and when not charging can drive...

Re: Develop a QCA7000 board?

I took another look at the LIM. According to the circuit diagram, PP is connected to pin 2 (A250-B2) in the CCS2 version. No resistor is shown in the charging plug. CCS1 has an additional jumper from pin 2 to pin 6. This pin 6 is connected to GND (PE) in the LIM via 2k7. This means: In EU no 2k7 to...

Last September, when we still had good weather, a friend & I had an enjoyable day at the somewhat-local breakers. While this wasn't strictly necessary, I enjoy a sunny day at the junkyard, and it was a good excuse to enjoy a sunny Fall day. Friend Mark is manning the saws today in Poulsbo, Washi...

Re: Develop a QCA7000 board?

Ah, understanding. I found the two Wiki explanations of udcdivider use to be . . . contradictory, but I see that that for your CHAdeMO use case you use it for one thing, whereas in another use case (ie an external analog scaled HV value), udcdivider is used for another. This wasn't clear to me upon ...

Re: Develop a QCA7000 board?

Re: Develop a QCA7000 board?

I'm nailing down some concepts in my mind that I've been black-boxing and ignoring for a couple of years. Re: Develop a QCA7000 board?

Does clara have a defined interface to receive BMS communications regarding maximum charge current & voltage, dynamically?

In my use case, it may take some time for the battery heater to sufficiently heat the modules to a temperature when they can begin to accept higher charge current.

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller

Tom, that's what I was remembering, but EV_Builder seems to have a different setup, or knows someone how does. At a minimum, I would want to restrict the charge rate at very low or very high pack temperatures, and this -- as well as other limiting factors -- is best communicated from the BMS, I woul...

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller

Please expand on this.

The BMS communicates limits . . . via CAN? To the ZV -> LIM (via CAN) -> DCFC EVSE (via PLC)?

If the BMS is communicating limits to the ZV, does the ZV have preset or user-defined communication profiles for various BMSs?

I'm looking for a Tesla LDU coolant manifold, so if someone is breaking one for a rotor for Affe, perhaps you also have a coolant manifold. It's the part that carries the problematic coolant seal, on the motor/rotor end of the LDU.

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller

Is there a relationship between the BMS (whatever BMS is in use) and the LIM/ZV? If so, how are the existing users implementing this relationship?

The Wiki currently mentions this only in simple terms:
