Re: Tesla LDU Bench Test: turns slowly, cogs, but has good Hall signal

I assumed it was good, but who knows if was paired with a motor that also had swapped pins on its Hall sensor. The OI software seems to spin the field in the opposite direction so it always needs AB swapped from factory harnesses I don't know many pulses per rotation the Hall sensor detects, so I'm...

Re: Renault Zoe (Continental) Inverter Reverse Engineering

Taking baby steps. I'm trying to figure out the position sensor which I expected to be a resolver. But it isn't. I have the wiring diagrams and there the pins are called - Ground - Supply (measures as permanent 5V) - Position Signal 1 - Position Signal 2 So I though ok, it must be some sort of posit...

Re: Nissan Leaf Gen3 Drop-in board

Great, thanks! Are we just leaving the boot delay capacitor unpopulated? Yes or replace with 0.1uF, that's known to work from other boards Verify different 32 & 40 position connector footprints SMT is verified, through hole not because part is lacking If R1 is removed, the plan is to allow the b...

Re: Extremely low power and poor pedal performance

Oh, wow. So in effect the pedal will register WOT at that point and the rest of the travel is wasted? Yes Well for what it's worth, the Prius pedal on my Leaf OI board has a range of about 1000~3200 on channel 1 and 500~2800 on channel 2. The Leaf boards based on Mini Mainboard already have the 1:2...

Re: Nissan Leaf Gen3 Drop-in board

The Zener is not needed as the coded voltage is below 1.23V and brake light flicker can be software-avoided in any case.
Somewhere I concluded 3k3 is a bit high as it sits at 3V at room temp. For the sake of unification it could be lowered to 1k2. What else was there?

johnsongt350 wrote: Tue Mar 26, 2024 8:50 pm Any recommendations on giving the pedal a different set of parameters
No improvement possible on that front.

If possible you can add at 4k7-10k series resistor between pedal and throttle input and redo calibration. Then you can use the full range.

Re: Extremely low power and poor pedal performance

That is (unfortunately) quite common with many throttle pedals. They range from 0.8 to 4.2V while the analog input ranges from 0-3.3V. Some newer designs have a 1:2 divider to be able to use the full pedal range.

Have you tried changing udcmin?

Re: [DRIVING] VW Touran powered by Nissan Leaf [FINISHED]

Despite the replaced wifi module and despite giving the scheduler top priority the VCU restart happened again today. I almost have a hunch it happens after a fixed time now but that is very vague. The reset cause is IWDG, so watchdog reset. There'd have to be some exception or endless loop to cause ...

Re: Extremely low power and poor pedal performance

Your pack voltage is displayed as 333V and udcmin=320V . That is much too high. Set it to 250 or even 200V for now to take it out of the equation.

Arlin is here! Found in the teardown thread, IGBT is AUPS4067D1 -B . t_off (@4R7) 230us, t_on 60us. Driver 1ED020I12 Not sure what is important here. Propagation delay is about 190ns . Rise and fall time is gate capacity dependent. Not sure if "input capacitance" is the gate capacity? If s...

Thanks, had missed that one.

Still most visitors cars run on oil, some weird substance that I can't produce at home ;)

That said, for me personally there will be no point in using a custom charger once I've done the 11 kW MG upgrade

LIN based CCS

Just an idea... If we want to build some personal DC chargers it is kind of bulky to equip them with the PLC stuff. So been thinking to run LIN over the CP line. Wasn't that even Teslas take on their V1 superchargers? So as an option, say the PP resistor has value x then we change over to LIN comms....

I wasn't even aware these existed. But rear window heating works and also power steering. Power steering just checks for motor rpm, that's why I simulate idle speed of 700 rpm. Maybe heated window does the same?

Interesting. Says nothing about V2L but it's nice that they also support 32A single phase

The AC connector in the document looks different than on the charger above.

Ah, no solar doesn't need rectification :)
So then both input voltages are floating anyway. Not sure about regulation. It is a current controller so it will keep increasing PWM until current is reached. No MPP

I've never tried paralleling these booster converters but I find it pretty cool that you're using the facility in the first place :)

You could run them off a common rectifier pre-empt any phase troubles

How far can you increase throtcur before the inverter trips?
500A battery might be asking a bit much from a Prius inverter

EDIT: can you also post screenshots of spot values while the motor is running at full power, please.

Ok, slowly. Do you get valid position feedback when turning by hand? Are you sure about the number of pole pairs of both sensor and motor? Have you checked the waveform of the sensor to be within 0-3.3V? What is the midpoint (min+max)/2?

I believe I have now merged the new UI to all variants main/master branches - ESP8266 - ESP32 - UART - ESP32 - CAN Would be cool to unify this a bit more. The Web Code for ESP32-UART and ESP8266 is identical. The CAN Web code is a bit different but 90% identical I would say. Maybe we can shell out t...
